Weatherby 18i

Wondering if anybody has any experience, good or bad, with the Weatherby 18i shotgun? I'm looking to buy a semi auto 12 gauge. Is there another fan favourite that somebody has?

Research shotgun fit before choosing a shotgun.

I own a 7 mm Weatherby Mark V rifle and it has taken 86 big game animals since 1988, but I wouldn't buy a Weatherby shot gun. My uncle bought a beautiful looking one from the Cabelas gun cave, but quickly became un-impressed. Just because someone makes a good rifle, doesn't mean they know how to make good shotguns, revolvers ,or what ever. I go with the Remington 870 Wingmaster, but there are lots of good shotgun brands to choose from, just not Weatherby.

I have an SA08 12 gauge, and for the price it had been fantastic. I have only ever had issues with one random cheap brand of ammo, but everything else runs through it like a champ. If I was looking for a hardcore skeet or dedicated goose gun I may look at something different, but for an all purpose gun that I can shoot 500+ rounds a year, it's still going strong.
