has anyone been their yesterday or today
hows the fishing? |
hear thru the grapevine that it winterkilled
|
Winter killed... Cant see it there is plenty of water there and we iced fished it a lot this winter.
|
Heard the same
I heard it was a bad winter as well. Not many survivors from this nasty winter:rolleye2:
|
I'm a beginner so it's hard for me to say one way or the other. I caught between 20 and 30 Walleye today and would have been well over 50 if I had landed everything I hooked. I even managed a Pike. The boats next to me were doing better. A 10-year-old out fished me 3 or 4 to 1! We marked lots of fish on the finder. The thing was lit up like a Christmas tree a lot of the day.
|
ArtVandelay- Thats really bad winter kill ---so nobody waste their time going out there.:shark:
|
I hear ya...I'm not going back there tomorrow morning at all!

Well I may need to rip out there tomorrow and see for myself. There were only like 4 million fish in it.
|
I am heading there today with two 10 yr old boys I will post my results tonight

Soooooooo
Not knowing a thing about walleye fishing, can a guy use a fly rod on these things? If so how do you do it? Jamie |
Jamie...try some clousers or other minnow patterns with a sink tip

Dodger. |
It was slow for us today we only boated 6 fish. I was pretty busy with my sons friend as he was basically on his first fishing trip so I was not able to get a lot of fishing in myself.
Weather was nice then it was cold & windy we also got caught in a squall and got wet. I was tracking a lot of fish on my fish finder before my d cell batteries finally went dead. There were a fair # of boats on the water as well as lots of people on the dock at the launch & it looked like everyone was catching fish. Gillfisher |
Had a pretty good day out there, caught a bunch of walleyes and a couple pike, but the walleye were actually bigger than the pike..lol

sort of, not really that fat but I think we caught a couple 16 or 17 inchers
|
Are there big Pike in there? If there are little Pike there must be big females there, no?

Plenty of shore fishing at the boat launch and all around the bridge. Head to Stavely, turn right.

I think Jts1 forgets the day that him myself and a buddy spent on the water there. We got quite a few on the fly. http://www.outdoorsmenforum.ca/attac...1&d=1274677777 Have atter. I should be there sometime Monday later in the afternoon or early evening. Taking my son out before he takes off to Europe in a couple weeks. A good buddy of his has never ever been fishing, so we are going to take him to Chain Lake for some rainbows, then over to PCR for some walleye. Rob |

a piece of smelt on a jig, both times.

Great day for me today at PCR - took my kids for the first time. Landed 36 walleye and lost as many. My kids were going crazy and I didn't get a moment to sit down. Also met some great people.
