Diesel mechanic Edmonton area

Can anybody recommend a good diesel mechanic in Edmonton/Sherwood Park area? Need to get fuel filter replaced in 2014 2500 Silverado. Don't really want to go to dealership. Thanks.

I would try a lube shop, I have had many fuel filters changed out and no issues. I just had the fuel filter changed at a lube shop on my Duramax it was 100$

Not too bad to do yourself. I’ve done them on the side of the highway before. A lot easier to work from the topside under the hood rather then trying to reach up through the fender well. This is how I do it. Unplug wiring harness connector off bottom of filter. Punch a screw driver threw the side of filter will make it easy to loosen that way. Remove filter, remove sensor out of old filter. Install sensor into bottom of new filter, screw new filter on hand tight. Connect wiring harness back together for sensor on bottom of filter. Back out black plastic bleed screw leaving in a couple threads. Press and release primer until all air is free and straight fuel comes out of bleed screw. Tighten bleed screw back in don’t over tighten as it’s only plastic. Start truck and away you go.

Great! Thanks for info. Will give it a try myself. Dealer quoted me $400 + so definitely looking for alternative.

From Passenger fender, beside tire, reach up and unplug water sensor.
Spin off filter(will make a mess as it tips over.
Replace filter.
From top side, remove air filter hose(two hose clamps)
Loosen bleed screw, it is a 10mm or flat head screw driver(be careful as it is plastic)
Pump up fuel filter with silver colored plug about 1.5inches across it pushes down about a inch. Pump until fuel comes out of bleeder screw, tighten bleeder screw.
Good to go.
Takes about 20 min, I trimmed the plastic inner fender on my truck to make the fuel filter more accessible.

Lomax Diesel

My friend owns Lomax Diesel in south Edmonton. Very reputable and reasonable shop rates.

Insane they quote that much... like the others it's an easy quick job. Took me maybe 30 mins the first time around. AC Delco filter shipped to my door was like $50.

Order a filter from Amazon and swing by my place and we'll get that thing replaced in no time flat.
