Both Cochrane bears dead

Anybody who knows anything about bear relocations isn't surprised, most end up this way.

They brought several up here, with the same results.

Relocation, the failed experiment that never gives up.

Apologies for mistakenly posting this in the Guns and Ammo section.

A shame to hear about. No one wants to see these animals die without a tag :scared0018:

Its a shame. Makes me wonder why they wouldn't move them way up north like the Rainbow Lake area well away from harms way? Give them room to wander around with way less human interference or temptation to get into someones live groceries.

sadly, predictably- i'm not at all surprised…..

I take it you've never been to Rainbow Lake.

Margret Lake maybe but Rainbow is far from being a safe heaven for Bears.
The whole area is riddled with roads, oil wells, gas plants, camps and people.

And if that's not enough, just down the road there's Chateh and Habay and a whole lot of native hunters.

That thinking is the very reason they moved some to the Manning area, with predictable results, for much the same reasons.

Sad really. The first bear died trying to support his chicken habit, but the second begs the question why did the grizzly cross the road?:thinking-006:
