Nice rifles and 30-06 is a favourite of mine too. Where did you get them from?

Love the sako!

Awesome find dollman, they look like their well taken care of.

It took me a few years to find my way back to this old cartrage,,, fun to shoot and very capable at getting those bullets down range.

I found loads from 125gr pet loads on up to the 180gr for now,,, I see the heavy bullet thing coming into play in a few years.

Nothing like having the middle grounds covered,,, the old 30 fills this category well.

Well I live in Wales in the uk bought them from my local gun shop both are new but I had the baikal for a reduced cost for 250 pounds so that would be about 400 Canadian dollars, and my Sako new was 1700 pounds so about 2750 dollars ,been saving for a year for the Sako then the baikal came about so I had both, the the trigger and set trigger on the sako are unbelievably I'm going change the scope on the Sako, because I to use the high opita lock rings and I still had to take my rear iron sight off , the baikal is going to have a red dot put on it ,because I bought it with in intent on using it as a brush or woods rifle not over 100 yard shooting on deer and running wild boar it really comes up real nice but unfortunately the triggers are more shotgun triggers, but it's not meant to be a target rifle anyway but that second shot in very quick atvb Steve

Great finds for sure! The Sako is a real beauty and I’m intrigued with the Baikal, please let us know how they shoot

Cheers,
Brent

Those are both beautiful rifles! I'm really liking the Bakail over under, I wouldn't mind fining me one of those, it will be great for a bush gun. If you do drop some boar with it, post some pictures.

That Sako looks great, the other rifle isn't my style, so I have no comment as to wether it looks great or not, but if it looks great to you thats all you need.

Brent ok I've been out to run the baikal in , with remington 150 grn ultrasonic ammo with the crap iron sights I had 3 ins group at 60 yards , the sights are rubbish, and the shotgun triggers , so when purchase a red dot and then do some reloads I'm hoping to get a 2 ins group at 100 yards , I'm told it's a 1-8 twist barrels but can't confirm that , I know the Sako is a 1-11 twist , and has shot Sako 180 grn hammerheads into a 1/2 ins groups when I do my part , the baikal is a work in progress, but a nice project to work on , the Sako is a refined rifle where as the baikal is built to take abuse but you wouldn't worry about knocking it about which is what you need with a brush gun.

2 posts ever, both reviving year old threads. Kind if weird.
