Awesome pics. Ones with rifle on hand was classic. Timeless memory there I’m sure

We sure got snow on the way out. 9” fell on the way-out. 26miles of misery forsure. Found some rams on the-last day but got snowed off the mountain before we could get in for a shot.

Our sheep camp back in 1991, before digital cameras, this thread brought back some great memories, hard to believe that was 29 years ago, wow

Thinking and weighting, all the time for back country hunts, you guys are lucky to have horses to hunt with, we slowly walk all our gear in, here are some pic's

Great pics.

Horses are great for getting camp in further but don't come without their own downfalls.....They are like taking able bodied children into the back country lol
Examples of this would be 1. they like to run away 2. they can be impatient 3. require supervision so they don't do anything too stupid 4. require a lot of food 5. at the end of a long day hiking on the mountain they still need to be tended to when you get back to camp regardless of how tired you may be

I am blessed to be able to utilize my horses for hunting but there is definitely a price that comes with ownership and use.......many times I have wished I had just backpacked in lol

By 2010 had no horses anymore and getting to old to back pack in so changed hunting styles a bit, it was either adapt or quit sheep hunting

2019 weather was crazy, we got pinned in our tipi for 4 days in BC during the August Snowmagedden.
