Thanks for reading. What is this 1.5 inch baby please? White sucker? Mountain sucker? Sucker minnow? Longnose dace? :thinking-006:

From the size it's a minnow for sure :bad_boys_20: sorry don't know. But why do you have it? Can't use for bait and too small to eat (maybe) :sHa_sarcasticlol:

This is from Marias River in Montana and it was thrown back the same day...

To me it looks like a dace.

Possibly Columbia River dace (Northern Pike minnow) or locally known as Squaw Fish.

Impossible to tell, just my best guess.

Also would be present in the same (or closely adjacent) watershed as the Marias River (Colombia) where they are numerous and quite common.
