I've got one in a Remington Mohawk 600. It is much the same as a 35 Whelan. The Mohawk has a nasty bark to it with the 18 1/2" barrel but very handy in the bush or on a horse. Only shot a couple of bears with mine.

Can't help with the 350 but I went to a 35 Whelen a while back, (same cal anyways), and love it. Prefer long actions to short, 30-06 brass literally everywhere, easy Accubond fit, no belt, and slightly milder recoil.

I guess I'm not sounding very favorable to the .350 and that wasn't/isnt my intention. I don't know it real well. In my case I just wanted serious thump with manageable recoil, did a lot of reading for a long time, and couldn't find anything more suitable for my uses. Turned out the rifle is ridiculously accurate to boot and I'll attribute a lot of that to a very fine member of this forum and an amazing bedding job.

I was assuming you wanted a smaller carbine rifle like a 600 for bush pushing which the 350 does very well, but we're both shooting the same rifle and barrel length.

You won't have to look far for a blood trail when you hit something.

I like your style. I’m running the same rifle but in a 35 Whelen and sans irons.

A friend of mine has a 350 in a Model 600. He’s shooting 250gr Partitions it memory serves. It barks for sure but it isn’t ridiculous recoil. I know he took a bull moose with it and it performed marvellously. I’m running 225gr Sierra Game King. They’ve been Uber accurate in my rifle but I’ve yet to take any game with them. I’m loving the 35s.

Had one and sold it. A model 7 CDL. Nice rifles. Cool cartridge. Perfect for antelope.

I had a 600 in 350 Mag for years. I shot 250 Speers at 2450 fps. I took a bull elk quartering toward me in the right shoulder. Upon dressing the elk found the left femur was shattered- thats well over 4’ of penetration...

I shoot left and loved the rifle but not the wrong side bolt, so I sold it to a member here years ago. You all have seen it in pictures on this forum... nicely done up in gray.

I have owned a Remington Mohawk with the laminated stock and rib, a fellow wanted it worse than I did . Now I have found an original Ruger m -77 . The Ruger is a better rifle.

Great cartridge and i miss mine. Had Bill Leeper build it on an SS 700 action with a 22" #3 barrel. She was a heck of a shooter and weighed under 7lbs with a 2.5-8.

I suggest buying Ramshot TAC and 200gr Barnes. It was a wicked setup that shot over 2900 fps and the penetration was better than 225 noslers or sierras.

TAC worked very well with the 225gr bullets as well.

Think it originally came out in the Rem. 600 with a laminated stock, as a bush gun, wish I'd bought one, settled on the .308 instead. I'm told they were popular in northern oil camps to deal with problem polar bears.

350

Been a fan for many years
Have/had them in 600,660, and the newer 673. Down to my "last":sHa_sarcasticlol: one on a 600 action with synthetic stock. Super light, but the stock is good so that the recoil is very manageable.
Most of them have just been used for deer as a bush gun, but still waiting to blood one on elk or moose.

I have a Remington 600 in .350 Rem Mag, shooting HSM 220 Gr cartridges. It's my go to for Elk up to 200 yards. Its a dream to hike with. Light and short.

If the right offer came along I would sell my original Ruger -M77 RS

I’ve had a Ruger M77 Mark II all weather seated in a hogue stock with full length aluminum bed block. Set off by a 2 lb timney. 5-600 rounds down the pipe. Fav bullet being the 250gr Hornady interlock between 2480-2530fps. I’ve taken 1moose 1 wt Handful of coyotes and a few unlucky muskrats. The hydrostatic shock is nothing short of spectacular. The moose taken was a cow @ 270 yards. Complete pass through heart shot. The 250gr pills are great for stretching the 350’s legs. I’ve shot it on steel successfully to 537 yards. Not it’s forte if it’s windy but still fun. Practical range for hunting is cap myself at 400yards. If you’re a reloader Win748 BL-C2 and RL-15(best velocity&accuarte) are good powders. You’ll either love your 350 mag or not. It makes a hell of a bark & hits with authority. Loaded to it potential it’s hard to beat a short powerful rifle in bear country searching for moose. No matter what your load choice- 200gr, 220,225 or 250 you’ll be tickled pink at the terminal results. Pro tip- best brass to for cases with are 7mm rem mag - REMINGTON & FEDERAL BRASS. I have found Winchester to need neck turning. Brass is too thick. You need some load data to start you off feel free to message. Cheers all.
