Great day shed hunting...

So last weekend, my son/grandson came over from Edmonton for a visit. Little guy loves it here as he does things he cannot living in the city.

So we went out on the land shed hunting. We walked several game trails which I know are often travelled by moose. Well he did very well and found a moose shed. His words were" I am very very very super impressed!". About an hour later, him and his dad found another one. He was really exited with the bigger one. And oh yeah...he also found a small deer skull.

Also shot cans, and did trail riding. He had a blast!

Of course, the sheds/memories went back to Edmonton...lol

Overall a great day. Sure is nice to see the young ones enjoy the country life. And that is what it is all about...:)

Great times! I’ve walked 1000’s of kilometres over the years shed hunting with my boys. I hope to be able to do it with grandchildren one day.

Shed hunting

15 years ago my grandsons were 5-10 years old, I had planted shed antlers when I knew they were coming.

I used to find sheds while working . So I would collect them up and then plant them so that when I took my kids shed hunting they always had a exciting successful day ( smile)

Nice job with the grandson & son. Memories made for sure.

I'm 57 and still love finding sheds while out sledding. So does my 25 yr old.

Such a great thread. Love seeing you getting kids out hunting sheds.

We used to pile up caribou sheds in Yukon. But apparently climate change means these sheds evaporate shortly after dropping due to .05 degree changes....sad. We need to have some hippies fly to the Sun and try to negotiate with it

Tremendous thread and a great looking crew. Something tells me that young feller won the Grandpa lottery!

Thanx all...it was a blast and will continue to be as long as I can.

Lol...nope, these were not "planted". I have trail cam pic evidence of 4-5 different bulls here every year(not counting cows/calves). Have posted a few of them here in the past. They kinda like this spot, and I figured out all their well travelled trails in here in the past 18 years.

Yea...memories are great and I know little Felix, and of course his dad, will never forget them...I won't...:)

This thread is awesome. Some happy kids right there and memories for a lifetime! Way to put them on the “spot” with your hard earned knowledge!

Great job Phil. It sounds like the young fella was pumped. I'm sure now he'll be bugging you to find some more.
