Give me some sight Models
 

I am looking for the make and model of sight you guys are using and like. I am trying to narrow my LONG list down to a couple to check out. I have looked at various manufacturers including CBE, Black Gold, Trophy Ridge etc. but I am wondering what specific models you guys use.

I in the market for a moveable 3 or 5 pin sight.

Black gold revenge.

Black gold pure gold, 5 pin slider. 7075 aluminum. Micro adjustable housing and micro adjust pins. 1st, 2nd and 3rd axis levelling. I just bought it recently, so I'm still in the process of setting it up. So far my only complaint is that I wish the pin guard was a bit bigger.

Do you find that the adjustment wheel gets in the way of your quiver? It looks like it sticks out quite a ways.

I have a Black Gold Ascent Verdict its been great. Started as a 3 pin I added a 4th .010 to play with at longer distances. I haven't had any issues wit the adjustment wheel and my quiver. Both I recently switched to a tight spot and it has even more clearance.

Yeah so those three were the ones I had it narrowed down to. Basically it is between CBE, Spot Hogg and Black Gold.

I have put that Spot Hogg to hell and back and never an issue. Even stalking through fields and brush the pin fiber optics haven't broke. I like the hunter as you don't loosen anything to change it. Jam allen key in and turn. I have dropped my bow, used it to stalk on my hands and knees, bounced the site off of climbing pegs and limbs pulling it up to tree stands and it has never moved or broke.

spot hogg, fast eddie but there are other models that are great as well

Not to start an argument,but as a pure hunting sight, what would be the purpose of having a 5 pin slider?

I can understand 3 pin slider as 50 and 60 yard shots might be an option. But for the 5 pin slider to be useful you would have to be willing to take a 70 yard shot.

This is based on a 20,30,40, 50, 60 pin set up.

I like the look of the Fast Eddie XL, CBE Tek Hybrid and the Black Golds...all these damn decisions hahaha.

I know it's not one of the brands you're looking at, but I shoot a fixed 7-pin IQ sight.

Top pin set at 20, bottom reaches out to 80 for practice. Using the 60 yard pin. I've shot out to 100 by moving the bow up to line the 80 up where the 60 lies. In can be done.

Don't need anything longer than 80 in any situation. And the IQ part gives me extra confidence.

I use a 5 pin slider in the off chance I have an animal I poked a hole in, run off and look back at a distance I don't normally have a pin for, that way I can dial and take a second shot that will assist with a humane kill. Thankfully, I have yet to need it....but it's there if I do. That's why I personally have a sight capable to do more than 60. My first shots I prefer under 40 and actually really prefer under 30.

Yeah I am also torn between the 3 pin and 5 pin but am leaning towards the 5 pin for the reasons stated above. With that said, with a movable 3 pin a guy should be a able to dial it down to the required distance if need be.

I checked out the Fuse Cybex sight at Accurate Archery. They are a well built sight and the pins seem bright! I think I might try the single​ pin model on my new Carbon Defiant Turbo. The Cybex comes in a single pin and a 5 pin model. I think they are a re-worked AXT Driver sight.

I don't see how that system would have any inherit accuracy. I must be missing something.

Just looks like more stuff in the way to block your field of view! Doesn't seem like something I would be interested in! To each their own though. I hope it works out for the guy who posted it.

Results thus far.

In the package come a paper picture with the vitals of a deer. On either side of the vital is a 1 inch black dot, exactly 15 inches apart. My bulldog target dots are 15.5 inches apart, so I called that close enough. I knew my speed on my bow at 287 so I choose the 285 fps insert. Put the top ticks on the opposing dots and took about 3 arrows to get me dialed into 20 yards. I moved back to 30 yards and that ended my night. All 3 arrow in the 1 inch bullseye and I had to re-fletch 2 arrows.

I don't know why, but for the few arrows I did get to shoot, it is so natural and easy to center the sight over what you are aiming at and I am not trying to keep a single pin on a set location. We will have to see how it does on distance and if the groups open up. What I need to do is spend some time shooting a 3D deer of realistic size from unknown distances to see if the theory/method holds water.
