GMC Sierra AT4
 
Anyone have one these new trucks?

I like the look and package. Could be even better with a little suspension and tire enhancement.

I've been looking at these also. Would likely ask to have the elevation wheels put on though. Never owned a GM so this is a big deal! I'll be watching this thread.

I’ll be the following this thread too...

But from a few reviews I read, the AT4 is simply a 2” kit on the normal Sierra, likely done through cranking the keys.

So if you go aftermarket lift you still tear out the 2” factory. The aftermarket 2-4” kit won’t make it 4-6”.

Was looking at the new Denali at the car show and the wheel well combined with factory flares/mud flaps, made bigger tires next to impossible to add on. Even sales guy wasn’t convinced.

Saw an article that said 2" lift blocks in the front 4 in rear

This got me curious as to what exactly GMC had used in their “2-inch suspension lift,” so I crawled underneath to find out. In addition to new Rancho shocks, it has upgraded front half shafts and jounce bumpers, but the lift actually originates from 2-inch spacer blocks.

Still trying to decide how it composted to F150. Maybe wait for the new 2021 Ford.

The GMC 1500s don't use torsion keys. Spring spacer as mentioned.

I have a 2019 Sierra SLT for a work truck and ive got 35k on it so far and it has been great, zero issues. Love it.

I'm a GM truck guy though so maybe I'm biased.

Why any self-respecting Canadian would even darken the doorstep of a GM/Chev dealer is beyond me...

They steal $13 billion from us, put 1400 Canadians out of work, and you fools are still giving them more.

3 of the last 4 GM vehicles I've owned motor has gone out not far after 300k.

I'm personally done with GM for awhile. New trucks do look nice though!

Will be updating their interior next year. So may be good to wait for either new interior or clear out of left over old style interior

If you do pick one up, be sure to get that paint protection film on at least the front bumper (they’re painted on the AT4). A guy in town has a 2500HD AT4 and he had over 100 small rock chips on the bumper after only 700 kms. Not just a GM thing though. Ford and Dodge have these painted bumpers that chip real easy too now.

If you want or need a lift, and want the GMC, the best thing to do is take a SLT and put a quality 4"-5" suspension lift on it and run 33's. If you want 35's - then you need to go to 6" lift.

No point in buying the AT4 which sits roughly the same height as a factory F150 IMO. GMC's ride lower already.

I have the 2019 Trail Boss , I believe it’s Chevy’s equivalent of GM’s AT. Simply put. It’s an awesome truck!!! Go get one, you won’t be disappointed!

I just looked it up. Ground clearance ~10.88" AT4 & 9.4" F150.

Given the wheel wells on the AT4 with a proper tire swap the F150 would likely sit higher anyway.

The stock Chev is 8.8" / GMC 9.1" (yes they are different in clearance believe it or not) compared the ford F150 at 9.4" ..... that was the point I was thinking of making when I typed the post - GMC/Chev's ride lower.

The AT4, does have a more clearance.

My real point was a 2" lift on a lower vehicle to begin results in what you see in your post, a small gain of 1.4" on "off road" model ..... which to me, isn't much of a difference.

Kinda like putting on a racing fin on the back of a ford tempo IMO.

Yea my post might not have read it that way but i agree with you. The difference between the two is negligible. Some of the other features would drive my choice rather then the "lift"

I went and looked at the two again and Ford wins hands down on interior, but GMC on the exterior (IMO)

Given how cheap I am, I will likely wait to see the redesign of both for 2021.

I've lived this ...

I had a GMC I had to lift 5" to get 33's on it so it would have enough clearance to get down some of those sloppy roads and crappy boat launches out in the sticks.

My current truck, a F150, has a simple 2.5" lift and I'm running 34" and getting more ground clearance.

There a couple options to get to where you want to go. I have just found the GMC/Chevs just to much like luxury low riders for how i use my truck - although the fit, finish and comfort of a GMC is second to none and I do miss that.

I went with the 2019 gmc evaluation fully loaded. Put a 3” leveling kit in and pretty happy. Amazing on fuel also have a 2019 f150 sport for work and would take the gmc over the ford any day

I've seen a few with leveling kits, they sure make the truck more like a truck. very sharp.

Have you tried fitting bigger tires? (not sure if want/need to) just curious what size you are able to run on a 2019 given the restriction of the wheel well in the front.

I know I had to install bump stops (even with a 5" lift) to run 33's.

Anyone here considered Rams for your needs? Rebel vs any other Ram + lift/level kit vs At4 vs F150.

I think I'm getting to the point of buying a new set of wheels, and so far leaving toward a Ram as opposed to competitors.
However i find this thread quite enlightening.

Speaking of Rams, buddy at work was showing the new Power Wagon. Pretty awesome looking rig for a gasser. Big plus side is you can spec the inside with new big info centre. Even has built in winch and bench seat lol

Yeah, those are great, but to me personally a bit to much of a truck.
