Looks like Big Lake outside St Albert is covered, Sauer and Chicakoo are covered
Chickakoo and Sauer are both 2-3” of ice with a few soft spots as of yesterday. Going to drive around to a few lakes today, will report back. -19*C at 7am this morning here, I can feel the ice calling!
Pigeon lake is icing over nicely on the west side
Just drove past Jackfish and Mink Lake, they are both freshly iced over. Didn’t go check the thickness as the ice cover is new. Coming along nicely though!

It has been pretty warm in Jasper. Haven’t seen any of the lakes outside of the park, but Talbot was open as of this past Monday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Hopefully we dont get the heaps of snow they are projecting to insulate the thin layer of ice we do have. Bad start for the ice if it goes like that.
Everyone be safe!!! |
