Cabela’s has Savage Renegauge semi-auto shotguns on sale, $350 off. In addition, if purchased before October 25, there is a $100 mail-in rebate from Savage. Appears to be a great deal for someone looking for a new shotgun. Has solid reviews too, so I would definitely drop by to see how it handles if I was looking for one (though I am not a Savage guy myself).

Canadian Tire on Manning Freeway north of Cabela's has a fair amount of their ammo on sale. Don't know if it is true at the other CTs that carry ammo. Worth a look to see if they have anything you can use.

My understanding is gun counters are operated independently from the the rest of the store, sometimes by different owners, so gun and ammo sales are mostly store exclusive. I will still stop by to check it out anyway, just in case. Thanks for tip, Dean.

Not sure if any price breaks but Cabelas Calgary has Hornady 6.5 140 ELD X and 147 gr ELD Match bullets which i have not seen in a long time.

A couple of years ago, I asked a lady (assistant manager at the time) when the next gun sale is going to happen. She said only when the current dealer is ready to move on and decides which guns he is packing to take with him and the rest going on clearance; and more often than not they rotate every 2-4 years. While I did take it with a grain of salt, I assumed the ammunition falls into the same category. I guess not, even if you think about it (which I guess I didn’t do, lol).

I thought the Canadian Tire at South Edmonton Common has a sign on the gun counter saying that they won’t match other stores prices? That was a couple weeks ago.

Some stores price match, and some don't, when the Wetaskiwin store had their huge Browning sale last year, several stores refused to match the prices.

My response was to ammo. Sorry if I wasn't more clear.
