Badly stuck

Got a call from my husband last night, and his brother and nephew are out by the Spirit River below Wanham hunting, and got badly stuck in a marsh with the quad. They cannot get it started and they buried it I think. Told my husband Kerry that if they want I could post coordinates in case anyone is up there hunting the area and has a quad to help get them out. I doubt that a tow truck can get in. I haven't heard back from husband yet so I think it's safe to presume that he decided to walk in to try and help them get the quad out somehow.

Just waiting to hear back from my husband. Haven't talked to him since 9:00 last night. They all have Garmin Rinos so hoping I get some coordinates

I was in a tight spot yesterday, managed to get out my own but did have a few offers for help so I'm sure there will be someone on here able to help. I would help out if I wasn't about a 6 hour drive away.
Good luck, keep us posted.

It's a trap to get his hunting spot :sHa_sarcasticlol:

Be very very careful:character0110: Joking of course. Hope they get the atv unstuck, some of those muskegs are full of Loon crap as my dad calls it. Swallow a quad.

Hahaha no, they don't even know the area, it's their first time hunting up there

Badly stuck, cool temperatures, not familiar with the area and no contact for 18 hours......I would think you should consider calling this in.

There are some beauty spots to get stuck in up in that area...you could lose a D9 in there pretty easy! Hope they get things squared away.....

fish_e_o 09-21-2016 09:57 AM

have you heard anything?

They managed to get the quad out by another quadder in the area, but it won't start so hubs is on his way home today anyhow. We'll have to run it in to the mechanic to see what happened when he gets home at suppertime.

Will have a shepherds pie waiting for this guy when he gets back.

Glad they are out and safe....

Thanks! And I guess it wasn't as stuck as my husband thought at first, it just wouldn't turn over and the boys were out in the boonies. Thank goodness his brother walked out and found a guy to help tow her out. Kudos to that quadder...:)

Good news, good to see others helping strangers. I do it and put the karma in the bank, one day it will be me needing it.

Thanks for your concern, my bad. I had already talked to husband late yesterday night when he told me that they got it out, but I didn't update until today. All three guys have been weaned on the outdoors and are all quite seasoned outdoorsmen, so I wasn't worried about that factor. Just really concerned about a possible big $$$$ recovery job
