123gr SST but didn't get anything this year

143 ELD-X in the CM.,worked fine on 2 Mulies and I would use the same load for Elk.
A 160 grain may be a bit heavy for the Creed ,not a problem for the Swede,the .260 with it's slight gain in case capacity shows loads for 160 gr. bullets ,but Hodgdon doesn't show a 160 gr. load for the Creed.
Bullets in the 123-143 grain class or even up to 150 Gr., should perform well enough for most game this cartridge is designed for.
I'm not familiar with the Woodleighs ,if the ogive is Tangent as opposed to the Secant ogive of VLD/ELD bullets,they may not allow all of the case capacity to be used in the CM. due to having to be seated to deep in the case.
Heavy and slow works ,I know ,but it may not be optimal in this case.

Just going off memory but i believe I was around 3.160 coal in the 6.5x55 with the 160 woodlieghs put the base of bullet flush with the bottom of the neck my reamer for that cartridge has a long throat mind you. I dont feel you would get very good performance from the creed simply due to how far you would have to stuff it in the case

I have had good success with Barnes 130 gr TSX in my 6.5x55

Nosler 129 LRAB in my CM for deer,they worked great on 4 deer so far,futhest shot was a little over 300 yards,closest was about 80 yards ,all 1 shot kills.

I have used 160 gr RN in my Ruger M77 MkII and a couple Swedes for lots of Moose and Deer over the years. I tried 129/139 gr and found they whistled right through on two Deer. When WSS was closing, I bought a bunch of boxes, enough to last my lifetime.

Have used the following:

147ELD-M - 40" Bull Moose
129gr LRAB - Bull elk and numerous deer
130gr Accubond - lots of deer
140gr SST - Bull Moose and several deer
143gr ELD-X - Antelope

They all worked exceptionally well The most consistent for accuracy, penetration and damage across the broadest range of impact velocities was the LRAB

What were you shooting them out of?

130 grain Nosler accubonds in my 6.5x300 WBY deluxe....

I worked up a load for the nosler lrab 129 grn for my grandson and he says they shoot well,I would like to load some barnes lrx 127 grn ,but I just haven't ordered them yet.

Just tryed some load testing in my 6.5x284 with 143g eldx and very impressed so far with h4831 48.5g-51g all loads were sub moa and at 48.5 and 49.5 went just under 0.5moa pressure signs at 51g all in all looking like an impressive bullet havent even played with depths yet just tested at .030 off lands at 3.165

The hornady 143gr eldx bullet with 39.6 grs of h4350 powder, has so far worked well on the range and in the field.One thing noticeable is the violent reaction of a 6inx 8in gong at 200m 300m compared to some other bullets.Although I got a buck at over 300m this year, that was rare,he dropped like a rag doll and didnt move.The does likewise dropped in there tracks and didnt move, more point blank less than 100m,On the range 100m 5 shots can for the most part go within one in, for sure the rifle can shoot better.

6.5 Creed, ,260Rem and 6.5x55 so all in the same velocity spectrum at the muzzle.

Have been shooting 6.5's for a long time. I am sure there were a couple with the 140gr TBBC and a couple others back in the day before I was really keeping good records on reloading.

129 ? Hornady - 2 deer did a lot of damage, lost a bunch of meat so quite using them.

95gr. Hornady for yotes but NOT fur freindly.

FYI the 143gr eld=x are more accurate out of my rifle then the 142 Match.
