Do You Anneal Before or After Sizing
Hey guys I am unsure as what to do here. I will be annealing brass for the first time and can't find info on if I should size and trim the brass before annealing or vise versa.
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated Thanks |

You always want to aneal to soften brass so it doesnt work harden and cause cracking. Stands to reason it should be done before you work the brass not after. Before sizing is the correct answer.

Thanks guys, thats what I figured, but I figured I better check in first.

Always before. If you're going to return the metal's pliability, why would you do it after sizing?
|
I'm with the rest of the crowd Before sizing.
|
Generally, how often are you guys annealing your brass?
|
Every firing

Really easy with an amp

With the price of brass now it wouldn’t take that long for an annealer to pay for itself.
