You know it’s going to be an adventure when an Argo is involved!

I always get drawn back to this site:)
This weekend I found myself with some time, the family is away, and I wanted to get the smoker on. It gave me a chance to come back here and contribute, most times I can just stop in long enough to read others posts.

Awesome stuff, most can only dream of having a cabin on the lake that you have to take an atv to. Looks like some awesome fish but I'm really curious as to what's in the pan in the fifth picture? I dam well love me some carbs and that just looks great.

That's Bannok, or Fry Bread.
3 cups flour
1tbs baking powder
2tsp salt
1/4cup butter
Mash it up with a fork, so the butter is in tiny flour coated bits
Mix in just enough water to get it doughy, don't put in too much, its about 1.5 cups, but try to use less.
Don't mix it into a smooth pulp, mix it just enough to say its mixed, not floury, just starts to get sticky.

From here, you can form pieces on a stick like a hotdog bun and roast over fire, or like I did, just cook in frying pan in whatever size pieces you want (I do the whole thing at once). Cook in butter and/or oil. Wife loves it with butter, kids like it with Jam or cheese wiz, I like it with peanut butter.

It was a 3 week trip, and my wife still has packing issues 4 Argo loads and 2 quad loads to get stuff to the cabin. Mostly without issue, other than losing one box of food in a creek on the way in. That was kinda funny, my wife lost the box from the quad when she was half way across the creek, I was watching her from shore as she watched the box floating away. My youngest daughter Bull Rushed into the water calling out "Why are you just standing there" as she hit waist deep water. She got the box and wrestled it back to shore, positive that she just saved the junk food box (chips, choc bars, Smores, etc). She tears the box open to check her prize and finds the box full of soggy bread and buns, lol. We ate a lot of Bannok for the next few weeks:sign0161:

Quality family time with an Argo, quads, and good fishing.

What else does a guy need besides a cold beer or a Rye & ginger?

Thanks for sharing

We used to pack bottles of ice in there to keep stuff cool/cold (we could drink the water after), but I finally smartened up and bought a propane fridge and a freezer. The fridge is 2 way, Propane or 120v, the freezer is 3way so it can also run 12v.
For water now we use the lake or a spring that's about 1km away.
