I really appreciate the answer. How many miles roughly? Just across Hwy 2 or should I pack a lunch for the trip.

You shouldn't have to travel very far around Olds to see gophers in a field;
there are gophers all over/under Central and Southern Alberta. The trick is to find a good location (clear fields of fire) and landowner that is willing to allow access for pest control. You should be able to find a good shoot within an hour of Olds if you drive the gravel roads and keep your eyes open. Look for pastures and fresh cut hay fields this time of the year.
BTW- always pack a lunch and bring plenty of coffee and water, it can be a long day on the field.

my sad count is maybe 12. from edmonton area looking to bring up that count but not sure how to go about it? best bet is door to door? any tips on what areas?

Check with stables/riding schools. Get yourself something like this https://www.cabelas.ca/product/92486...rrel-air-rifle

and you can shoot in closer quarters, with less noise than a firearm.

Breaking the 20K barrier...

19,985 + 56 = 20,041

20,041 + 34 = 20,075

Ian426 08-28-2018 07:57 AM

20075 + 19 = 20,094

These from a couple weeks ago, just forgot to chime in :-)

6.5 shooter 09-21-2018 04:36 PM

20,094 + 47 = 20141

dcampbster 09-21-2018 05:24 PM

20141 plus 3500=23641

about 3500 for the year starting about march

birdbeast 09-24-2018 02:56 PM

OK, so this total is for all you gopher getters not just one person's total.
