WMU 318 G Bear

Hello all,

May be a dumb question, but since it is a bit further east, I was wondering if there are grizz in WMU 318, or in certain sections of it? Thanks

Yep. Anywhere west of the #2 actually. And sometimes east

Any place that black bears normally live you have a chance of seeing a grizz

Yes grizzly bears go wherever they choose to go even if man doesn’t think they should be there

We should remember that the big bears once roamed the prairies. With the increasing population, and their need for large territories they will keep spreading East. How far remains to be seen.

The place is crawling with them. obviously an exaggeration but there are enough to make your life exciting. Buddy has a grazing lease right on the edge, he has cattle losses and I never go there unarmed.

Had an an argument once with a "conservationist ". I claimed they wouldn't be happy until there were Grizzlies roaming the suburbs of Winnipeg.
