Importing a used rifle into Canada?

Hey folks, Wondering what is all required and if it’s worth the hassle to import a used rifle from USA to Canada?

Just have Prophet River or Ir Guns bring it in for you.

If it's a gun you just have to have of course it's worth it, but do yourself a favor and let someone like Clay at prophet river do it, costs you a bit but in the long run well worth it.

importing

I agree. I used Irunguns this last fall. Zero hassle.

What is the cost of importing?

Just through the process of using Irunguns yesterday...
They charge $200 CDN for processing, $25 CDN for shipping to you, and $30 USD for wire transfer fees. You have to make arrangements for purchase and wire the money to Irunguns who then purchases the firearm for you. You would also be on the hook for any state sales taxes, shipping to Irunguns FFL
in AZ, and GST upon arrival in Canada.

It appears Prophet River no longer offers rifle importation services, just shotguns.

Prophet river still does imports.
Might be a good idea to hold off for a bit.
They just announced that the export of firearms is going to be done with the commerce department, not ITAR
This is going to change things up big time.

I think PR is just waiting for the switch over to put it back on the website.

Rifle Importation

X3 for Prophet river, used them 2 times in the past 4yrs for rifle importation, with no issues whatsoever. Hopefully they will be importing again soon! As others mentioned, Prophet River was a little more money, but well worth the slight difference in $$, the customer service that Clay provides speaks volumes!

I’ve used irungunz to import before. IRGunz is great to deal with! They even gave me a free t shirt!
