Keep the hostage?

Hey all, last year I got a knock around bow for practicing outside in cold/ugly weather and I thought I liked the hostage arrow rest that came with it... maybe I just need to replace the brushes.

Did any of you switch from a hostage or whisker biscuit to a drop away and why.
Or, did you switch the other way?

Anyhow, just looking for some opinions.
Thanks

I’m in the same boat with the same rest. Brushes are a pain the find them having to keep replacing them. I’m looking at a drop away as well, either the QAD HD or Rip Cord.

I replaced my whisker biscuit with a drop away mainly because I was getting tired of refletching arrows. Shoot enough and your fletchings will get “fuzzy” from passing through the whiskers. I did, however, like how contained the arrow was in the WB rest. I now use a limb driven drop away and haven’t looked back. No more fuzz.

The hostage rest doesn't have that good of a reputation. They are a little pricey but I have been running the same QAD for about 6 years now without an issue. I think a good drop away is worth the investment.

I just changed out a hostage rest for a QAD on my wife's bow the other day. We were doing some spot and stock hunting last fall and with the hostage rest i found every time her arrow caught on anything it would push her arrow through the brushes and it would fall down off to the side of the brushes. When she she drew back on an animal i had to double check that the arrow was actually sitting in the proper position. To each their own but that was my experience, i feel more confident now that we changed it out.

Thanks.
That QAD looks good if the new brushes don't improve things.
