Loud compound bow problem

I have a 70 pound pse thunderbolt, just put a stabilizer, limb silencers, and string leaches. The sound is pretty loud snap I guess. What else can be done or anyone have a clue what could be wrong. Thanks everyone.

Any chance your shooting a tube peep? That could be the source of your snap noise if so.

Is your string hitting anything?
Go over you bow and check that all the allen bolts are tight....don't go overboard but check that everything is snug.
How is the bow shooting?
What kind of rest?

Could be cracked limb? Arrows are to light? Loose bolts in your cam?

Ah yep I am shooting a tube peep but I always have just seems a lot louder than it used to be. Everything is tight as far as accessories. Whisker biscuit for rest limbs are tight. Arrows are heavy enough I think, what about cam timing or cable problem. It's very accurate just too loud I think.

if everything checked out good, no loose bolt, then try shooting a heavier arrow and no tube peep. try arrow in the 450gr and up range, bow can transfer energy better on an heavier arrow and it will change the vibration frequency in your bow.

good luck

You might want to try cleaning your limb pockets if nothing else works.

Does it have a string stop?

That is what they do. Every thunderbolt was very loud. The only cure is to shoot a very heavy arrow. Mine sounded like a gun going off every time I shot it. This is why I got rid of it as fast as I got mine 15 years ago.

:D ...Even if everything on the bow looks good and is tight...an untuned bow is twice as noisy as a spec tuned bow...for example when timing is off on a cam or cams it is very noticeable...

Have bow Spec tuned...

String noise is another factor on some makes...string whiskers will work wonders with these bows...

Ok thanks everyone it doesn't have a string stop and my arrows weight is 430 grainers. However I do wonder about the cam timing.

Loose cam? Had that problem last year, real loud until I found that a screw had loosened up. Quick turn of the Allen key and voila, perfect.

Just checked it got a hair more tight, I'm leaning more along the cam timing or something like that. Any other suggestions.
