And suggestions on the best built in dishwasher???

Bosch is at the top right now, although quite expensive. We have an LG that we have been extremely happy with. If there is one brand to steer clear of it is Samsung. Absolute biggest pieces of junk I have ever had the displeasure of owning.

Anything but a galantz, think that what it was, worked once and a 4 month battle.

Second the Samsung anything, stay away.

A brunette, with pretty brown eyes and nice smelling hair….

I would reccomend Bosch.

You barely know the darned thing is running and everything comes out sparkling clean. Be sure to use the recommended Finnish tablets.

I've had three of them in three different properties and each time I moved I wanted to take them with me. Never had an issue.

Right now I'm waiting for my cheapo whirlpool contractor purchase to die so i can buy another Bosch.

Actually, come to think of it, that 12 yr old whirlpool is still going strong - you just need to turn up the TV when you're running a load.

I took the plunge 3 years ago and bought one it is still working amazing and insanely quiet you will not regret it

I have been hearing not so good reviews of the mid range Bosch machines. I have a higher end Bosch and it is great. Some people can't wrap their heads around the fact that it doesn't have a drying cycle... I just run it in the evening and let it dry overnight.

We installed a Bosch 7 years ago, the thing never missed a beat, and super quiet.

I have that, not good when the galantz died.

Whirlpool in our house when we moved in. It died quickly and was 3 years old. Went and got an asko, so far has been amazing and came with a 6 year warranty

That made me laugh

We have a kitchenaid. We have no complaints. They mentioned the Bosch was the top dog when we purchased it. But this one was expensive enough.

I'm sure the one it replaced was over 20 years old.

Miele. Pay once, cry once.

The first Asko we had was amazing, the second not so much so. Then we got the Bosch. One of the things that the Asko had was a diagnostic cycle... press the correct combination of buttons and it went into diagnostic mode; you could step it through all the cycles... fill, wash, drain. If you wanted to clean it, go to diagnostics, fill, add citric acid, wash, walk away for an hour or so, drain, everything shiny clean. Wish they all had that feature.

Bottom line, like a lot of other things, they don't build em like they used to, lower your expectations. :D

Bosch, German manufactured! Not the domestic Bosch knock off. So quiet can’t hear it running.

Our house was 2 years old when we bought it in 2003 and it had a whirlpool in it, it crapped out in 2019 and we replaced with a new whirlpool very quiet and if we get 18 years out of this one I probably won't be the one to replace it :)

Maytag, Kitchenaid, Whirlpool - all the same junk.

Dishes go in dirty, come out clean. And I can barely hear it run.

theres only two of us so we do dishes once a week, we go fishin in the summer and drag em in a net behind the boat, in winter we go to car wash with the truck and throw em in the back. Them chinette plates from costco gets you 500 in a bag they's the good'ns. LOL

Bosch. Have had a number of other brands but they were mostly junk.

Been happy with Bosch, owned 3 different samsung last 5 years, 1 was okay, but 2 were junk and only a year old. Error codes, moisture leaking, no thanks. Parents have higher end tastes with Miele, have used them for 15 years and running strong. If I had budget would go that route with next one, but would rather have a dishwasher and a gun, than just a dishwasher.

Our Jenn-Air is 14yrs old, still going strong.

And if the consensus hasn't been clear enough, Bosche. Replaced our 12 year old Kenmore Elite about 6 months ago. After reading tons of consumer reports, that's what we went with, and it works great. Quiet, and gets things clean. We got ours at Costco, and got a $200 costco gift card that we then put towards new sink. Win.

Another vote for Bosh. We had an Asko and it performed perfectly for 16 years until the motor went. We've had the Bosch 300 series for over a year and it's been great and is super quiet. The anti-flood function in the Bosch saved us a lot of headache and potentially damaged hardwood floors. There is a float that is activated in the basin when water accumulates and shuts everything down. Turns out our backflow stopper in the drain line failed. Thankfully the anti-flood system kicked in to save the day and allowed us to be able to diagnose the problem with no water damage.

Not sure if other brands have the anti-flood function, but I'm a big fan!

We purchased ours through Costco as well.

Our Jenn-air died after 10 years and replacing the control panel twice. About right in an engineered obsolescence world. Bought a Miele as they claim to be a 20 year machine. Time will tell but so far so good.

I wouldn't buy another dishwasher with the control panel on the top side of the door. The appliance guy says he replaces those regularly due to condensation forming on the underside of the countertop.

Bosch. whisper quiet and works great.

Put in a top of the line Kenmore about 33 years ago. It's not the most quiet machine but still works fine! Of course the Kenmore brand is extinct now so will have to check out others sometime.

Your Kenmore could have been any brand but was most likely a Whirlpool

We've been running a Miele for the past 23yrs and haven't had an issue. If the dishwasher has any problem that cost me anything, I'm just going to buy another one. My Miele owes me nothing and literally the cheapest major appliance we've ever bought(amortized over time).
