What's your closest kill shot?

Oh, it was with a rifle.:sHa_shakeshout:
And no bayonets, or cutting devices were involved with the kill.
Keeping with the format, no details.
That way no one can be judged:love0025:

closest shot

I called in a bull elk one time, a big 5 pointer, he kinda hung up @ 50 yds, but after thrashing a spruce tree for 5 minutes or so, he started coming in. I fired at 9 yards, he was still walking when I fired! Opening morning too!

Sorry Dick.
I just couldn't but joke for that close kill

Attilathecanuk 07-13-2013 03:29 PM

11yrds paced. (Didn't have a range finder)

Killed a friends wounded doe point blank (36") in the head, so it was a kill shot but I don't think that counts.

SkytopBrewster 07-13-2013 03:32 PM

Witnessed my brother kill a sparrow at 10 yards with a rock, took it right off the powerline after it crapped on his freshly polished 72 chev.

GunnerySgtJackson 07-13-2013 03:42 PM

40 yards-Bull Moose.

Nait Hadya 07-13-2013 03:46 PM

Dang I missed the rifle part, sorry Dick. But I can't recall, but maybe it was a Hereford cow.

Wisebuck 07-13-2013 04:40 PM

4-5 feet

leo 07-13-2013 04:45 PM

15' on a WT buck.

flyguyd 07-13-2013 04:50 PM

6 feet give or take an inch

Hunter1602 07-13-2013 04:52 PM

Less then 10 feet.

Bushrat 07-13-2013 06:29 PM

8 or 10 inches maybe less, my second deer, doe whitetail, shot her in the top of the head right between the ears, as she walked under the horizontal blown down tree I was standing on, she didn't know I was there, could have touched her with the end of the barrel, one handed shot. Fog was so thick you could hardly see past spitting distance.

DaleJ 07-13-2013 06:37 PM

Spiders in the bathtub with .375 H+H, F215 primers, and lubed ear plugs. Safety first, used goggles.

bessiedog 07-13-2013 06:40 PM

Inside 10 feet on a whitetail buck. 2x2.

Good ole lee enfield!

LuckyStrike 07-13-2013 07:15 PM

Blacktail Buck

I heard some crunching in a larrge clump of bushes about 20 feet away. A nice 3 point BT popped his head and neck through an opening close to me. I'll never forget the look he gave me as our eyes met and I fired.

That was using a shotgun slug, btw ... not quite a rifle..... but same results :character0110:

lucky...

gpgriz 07-13-2013 07:22 PM

I'm estimating about 20 yards for a WT doe.

keep6matt 07-13-2013 07:26 PM

About 20 yards on a whitetail.

Lefty-Canuck 07-13-2013 07:29 PM

About 2 inches....but the animal was injured beforehand......

LC

6.5 shooter 07-13-2013 07:41 PM

20-25 yds WT 4 point .243

deanmc 07-13-2013 07:51 PM

5 yards.

Mistagin 07-13-2013 08:15 PM

3 yards! Maybe a bit less.

Took a WT buck with a shotgun (slug) running right at me. He was with a doe and I let her pass - so close I could have reached out an touched her with my hand!!!!!

When I shot that buck he somersaulted over backwards.
