I'm embarrassed that we have 'ambassadors' such as her spreading such an image of Canadians in foreign nations. I'm generally quite gleeful when people face real justice, because its pretty rare to see justice happen here at home (which is part of why we get irresponsible people who travel and make idiots of themselves in foreign lands in the first place)

The video seems to show the male Brit doing the actual spray painting and she seems to be recording the event for self-incriminating posterity so her actions are not as bad as his (provided of course that she didn't take a turn with the Krylon). Still, who the heck has spray paint in the first place when on holiday?

On the other hand it might not be that bad, she looks like a girl who might not mind a long stint in a womens prison......

Who's old enough to remember the case way back when there was a big hulabaloo about some US tourist twit who was sentenced to caning in Malaysia for doing something similar?

Twisted Canuck 10-19-2018 06:53 PM

Haha, I had some similar thoughts Caber...punks need to be careful where they punk. An 800 year old wall isn't something to lightly vandalize!

liar 10-19-2018 06:58 PM

maybe our legal system could take a page out of Thailand's play book . Actually punishing people who have no respect for other peoples property .

hogie 10-19-2018 07:00 PM

She admitted to spraying a b on the wall then stopped.

Don't do dumb sh*t in other countries and complain.

RandyBoBandy 10-19-2018 07:14 PM

Too bad, so sad. When you travel to other countries, you MUST respect their rules. Break their rules, you get punished. Not like this snowflake run judicial system. :thinking-006:

sgill808 10-19-2018 07:17 PM

So many things to do in Thailand but this broad could only come up with this. Some people are so dumb.

ReconWilly 10-19-2018 07:18 PM

Trublow will demand her release and give her $10 000 000.

fordtruckin 10-19-2018 08:08 PM

I believe there is a little excerpt from your passport that says when in other countries your to follow their laws... all I have to say is stick it to them!

Twisted Canuck 10-19-2018 08:24 PM

Just saw that she is from Grande Prairie. Now it all makes sense. Please make her serve all ten years.

My son knows her, he somehow isn't surprised, though he did get a good laugh.

Hahaha I was just thinking, yup, grande prairie girls. Figures. Then I saw the pic and woah...even for grande prairie, that’s a stretch. Yikes. They can keep “her”

Now that would be refreshing. Especially with all the crime in Alberta. I wonder how they punish people that steal & do B&E’s in Thailand?

Her mother of course can't understand that she could do this. She's really a nice girl.

Grizz

Her mom trying to get money is the longest run on grammatically flawed sentence I’ve seen in a long time!

Trochu 10-19-2018 10:20 PM

So people have donated $3k. Unbelievable, she broke the law and people are giving her money. That GoFund me backstory has got to be the longest sentence I've ever seen. You'd think if asking people for $15k via the written word, basic grammar skills would be utilized.

Hunt4Ever 10-19-2018 10:22 PM

If you can’t do the time don’t do the crime

kmacisaac 10-19-2018 10:27 PM

Gone are the days where they would just cut off your hand.....it was such a quicker learning curve. As stupid as this was, I'm sure the good people of GP could survive 10 years without her/him...that in their population. I also hope the turds in Ottawa don't start wasting tax payer dollars on some type of rescue plan.

moosemad 10-19-2018 10:27 PM

Now if they had a 10 year sentence for possession of an illegal handgun in Canada we would not have to worry about Truedue (sp) and his silly laws. :thinking-006:

I doubt I'd get any money at all if I started a GoFundMe just asking for money to buy a lakeside recreational property in the mountains. Apparently bad behaviour is rewarded while being a regular working schmuck who tries to live pretty clean would probably garner jack squat. Maybe if I added a sob story and some petty vandalism (that I'd personally repair & improve after first getting permission to break something of someone else's)? :thinking-006:

Rackmastr 10-19-2018 10:32 PM

Great to see...hope she enjoys her 10 years.

wolf308 10-19-2018 10:36 PM

Everyone's done dumb stuff while drinking ...... eesh guys , your ready to crucify them.

10 years is pretty steep. Figure 1 oughta make em think about there mistake. Not like they beat up and ****ed on a defenceless person

And dam. She ...... nevermind

expedition 10-19-2018 10:40 PM

I think ten years is over the top! Strange the mom on go fund me claims it is for expenses here at home . I could see it for a lawyer. Some of these countrys , prisoners families are responsible to feed them . Not sure about thialand!

Blastoff 10-19-2018 11:41 PM

Give her jail, crazy to ask for money mother and daughter from the same tree or Apple

brslk 10-20-2018 01:51 AM

On one hand I feel like the rest of you in thinking that she broke the law and should pay harshly for it but on the other hand... I've done some pretty stupid stuff in my life.
I don't feel sorry for her as much as I do for her mother. She might not be an angel but shes still her mothers little girl (no matter how old she is) and I do think ten years is pretty harsh for a victimless crime. I month in jail and a hefty fine would be more suitable.
