Registered Trappers list

not sure what i'll get here.... but here goes
I work for the County of Stettler, and I am getting a few calls on beaver, muskrat, coyote, raccoon, and porcupine problems. I am looking for a list of registered trappers willing to do some work in the Stettler County area. so far my issues are in the Gadsby-North area, Southeast of Stettler area, and the Donalda area.

please message me if you are:

1: a registered trapper
2: interested in work in this area from time to time throughout the year
3: what the costs will be(roughly) so that I can pass on those numbers to those having the issues, and I will have for our use if we have issues

thanks in advance!

moght not be many registered trappers in the area. but i bet there are a lot of resident trappers around.

the species you need gelp with arent on the quota system,

might get more names if yoy cast a larger net.

hope someone responds. if i were closer i would jump at it

I would certainly look into getting resident trappers on your list. But make sure they have some qualifications concerning ethical methods and discretion concerning this endeavor,
The trapping community in Alberta is not in need of bad reviews ! just saying .

Just another clarification, all trappers both Registered and Residential are not interested in trapping beaver/coyotes etc during summer 8 months of year as hides are not prime and have no value to them. Their time, gas or diesel for their pick-up truck etc are a major cost to them. Thus someone, the county or people with wildlife problems will need to compensate them for their service. Contact a few companies that provide these wildlife management services and you will get some idea of the costs.

I do quite a bit of local beaver and coyote control free of charge in my area and have gained a lot of access and hopefully a good rep in return. I m also retired and enjoy the challenges as well as the time spent afield.

If posting here doesn’t produce any results, try posting an ad in the local paper and/or on a local Facebook group (ie. Buy and Sell).

“In search of a licensed Trapper to help manage nuisance animals in the ******* area.”

Just go to the fish and game office right in town and ask them. They might point you in the right direction.
