Upper and lower k and Spray Ice fishing

Anyone have any guesses how much longer lakes like upper and lower k and spray will be safe ro ice fish? I know it depends on weather but what's the thickness/condition right now? Anyone know?

Tons up at Spray. Almost thought I was gonna need an extension. Lot's of overflow right now. Be prepared for wet feet. You'll have another month at least, unless it gets really warm.

I was out there between Driftwood & Sparrowhawk 2 weeks ago & all my holes were 29" deep after kicking all the crusty snow & slush away down to bare ice. There could easily be 30" now. I used a hand auger with an adapter to run on my cordless drill & the chuck of my drill was in the water every time I broke through so I definitely need an extension next time I go !

Mine goes right down to the drill too...it has all winter actually come to think of it. I figured the ice was 20 ish. Maybe I underestimated the thickness of the ice. LOL

Are you going to make your own extension? I've been thinking about doing that myself. I'm running a Milwaukee m18 drill with an eskimo auger.

I'm running a Milwaukee M18 Fuel with a Finbore 6" hand auger bit. I'm looking at getting a 12" Finbore extension from Fishin Hole; not sure if it would work for an Eskimo auger bit?

You should....Not sure I would want to smell like smelts when their food is sparse like it is now. hahaha

I hear ya, point taken! I'm hoping to get out at least once more but Fishin Hole is sold out of those auger extensions for Finbores. Got one on order & hoping it comes before next weekend or I might have to take the ice chipper to finish my holes 😉
