100% disaster :(

I feel sorry for the players and whatever fans they have left but not for the organization. They changed the name and now karma is gonna get them. And judging by the extremely poor attendance at Commonwealth the fans appear to not like the change either. The writing is on the wall for the future of the team.

Toasted Elk
Boy, talk about an absolutely disappointing season for the former Eskimos. The last few games were painful to watch. There's gotta be some big changes coming down the pipe.
|
Couldn’t clue in for the longest time what the heck the thread is about, lol. Just came back from elk hinting and kept reading the first three posts and thinking I don’t get it. Lol.
|
Indeed some pieces will be moved. The name change & this covid business seems to be a perfect storm for things to badly. Bites bigtime :argue2:
|
They proved they were losers when they changed their name.

Get woke, go broke. GM and CEO need a spine. CFL needs a spine.

The political correctness has nothing to do with the product on or off the field. The guys who run the place - Sunderland and Presson - are azzhats, and have zero connection to Edmonton. I am very good friends with former Esks coaches and players who worked under them, so recent. Every word that has been spoken about them, how they treat employees and players is true, and then some. There is not a single person currently employed by the Elks who ever had a single disagreement with Brock Sunderland. None. He is a bad dude, and has taken the team down at a point in time where they need public support more than ever. Our family got season tickets again this year because we wanted to support the team. Won’t be renewing until the two at the top are gone. I cannot bring myself to support inherently bad people. Nope.
|
Idk I think political correctness affects the players and standings. Lets see your team bent at the knee to change its name, management walks on egg shells as to not offend, players have to do the same, god forbid if you celebrate too big you will be accused of toxic masculinity. Men can't be men these days. Maybe I'm wrong but these days more people care about PC than winning. Hey they lost but they used different pronouns they're winners!
|
I'm sure at the end of the season the players will each get a ribbon for participating.
Lame league, lame team. |
#eskimocurse
Sunderland is an asshat. I don't care where you go just go away. |
Elks are toast
I have had season tickets for the Esks/Elks for over 30 of the past 40 years. They have finally beaten me into submission and I am waving the white flag and will not be renewing my tickets next year.
The classless treatment of Dwayne Mandrusiak after 49 years, combined with the crappy performance on the field has driven me away for good. I don't know what the team home record is for the past 10 years, but I would be surprised if it is over 50 percent....and don't get me started on the half time show. At least my daughter will enjoy the Hansen brothers Friday night, but some of the noise making garage bands they have used are terrible.:argue2: |
Whenever the Riders and Esky's met in a semi , final , or Grey Cup , ALL Rider fans new it was going to be a battle...football was good !
Such a proud franchise with exceptional players thru the years. The Elks.. ?? The de-nutting of a great team. Pitiful. The Elks were founded in 1949 as the Edmonton Eskimos and have won the Grey Cup championship fourteen times (including a three-peat between 1954 and 1956 and an unmatched five consecutive wins between 1978 and 1982), most recently in 2015. << Awesome and i'm a Rider Fan. |

I used to worship the CFL. The Bombers were my favorite team. Then came cable tv and the NFL.
Haven't watched the Children's Football League since. |
I was never a real sports fan, but I did really appreciate the achievements of the Esks and Oil in the 80's.
Sad to see where they're at now. Hope they can rebuild. |
I personally think it is going to be a huge mistake to dump Trevor Harris. In my opinion he is still a good QB with some gas left in the tank. I watch nearly every game every year in the CFL. //S//
|
Here's the REAL problem with HARRIS. He has chosen not to get vaxxed. He cannot board a plane to go play down east. Most of the EE games will require flying. The EE have no choice but to bench him. :)
|
I walked away from the sports world when Gretzky left, that was it for me, I seen my loyalty to any team(s)
after that easily being betrayed..was like treason for me watching him with the Kings, lol. |
