2017/2018 Horn Scoring Shows - Post'em Up!
The 9th Annual Cherry Grove Big Buck Night is being held on Saturday, Dec 9th at the Cherry Grove Community Hall (12km SE of Cold Lake) starting at 12PM. Entries will be accepted from 8AM until 5PM only with awards starting at 6PM. There'll be numerous categories and great prizes to be had. Horn entry is $20 and $10 for viewing; kids 11 and under are free. There will be vendors onsite to satisfy your Christmas shopping needs also. This year proceeds will be going to the "2nd Chance Trail Ride - Tissue and Organ Donation Support Group. Last year we donated $5000.00 to the "Haying in the 30's" - Cancer support group from proceeds of the show. Please visit our website or Facebook page for more info.

3rd annual MLO party & Fundraiser at my place..Feb 3rd.
A little different twist. close to 60 days of drying time after season closes I have a gathering of Friends and family and extra guests that show up to share the antlers or skull of the animal they harvested this year.. I have friends that score for us , raffles etc that will go to a charity of our choice. Firepit going outside for the smokers , Good food and drink as well as driver take home arranged. I have this in my Mancave shop so it gets a little full at times.. I have the Burbank Hall lined up as a back up plan should i get to many replies who's showing up. Its not biggest Buck or anything...It keeps those that shot a 120" whitetail still wanting to bring their animal to share , It may be their first animal or whatever.... Always a Good time. |
Has anyone been to the one in Peace River past December. I couldn’t make it but would really like to see a pic or two. Also, do you remember what were the largest scores on whitetails and elk. I would greatly appreciate your post.

Speaker series during the day as well! 1st one will start at 9:45am to 10:45am and it will be Elton Hunter he will be discussing and showing videos on his hunt in Africa 2nd one will start at 11:00am to 12:00pm and it will be Travis from Wapiti outdoors (world renowned elk caller ) all about elk calling , different methods on calling elk 3rd one will start about 12:45pm to 1:45 pm and it will be Brad Fenson and he will be talking about wild game cooking and explaining different recipes and preparation on how to cook wild game 4th one will start around 2 pm to 3 pm and it will be Jeanette Hall a ( Cabela’s Pro Staff) and she will be discussing international hunting , discussing experiences in traveling to different countries for variety of hunts , hot tips,proper hunting etiquette, getting your trophies back over the border and how to choose where to book a hunt |
