Lesser Slave Lake Walleye Fishing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03yrGxOem4s

Ice fishing in Alberta in early March during a cold high pressure system out on Lesser Slave Lake. Headed onto the ice with some friends and family to try our luck in and around The Ice Shack. It was fairly cold and the bite was pretty slow. You'll see on the underwater camera that these walleye were in a totally off mood and most were just nudging the lures. It was good we had a nice place to warm up because those long spring days can get a little chilly. Fortunately around 4 PM the fish started to move in more consistently and we managed a nice limit for the 5 of us out on the ice that day with a great bonus Pike and a fat catch and release walleye. Hope you enjoy this video. As you will see we sure enjoyed our time out ice fishing in the shack watching the underwater camera on the big screen. Fishing just became a spectator sport!

The underwater camera on the TV was a lot of fun.

In the video last year we were fishing at Cut Bank.

We tried out there this year a couple days after the original video, but didn't even catch a walleye that morning. Caught a few perch out at cutbank. I heard the evening bite was good at cutbank but no early bite like last year.

What kind of depth are you fishing in from the camera? It shows up well. When I fish in 20 or more feet of water I find it quite dark. Its fine if the fish is right beside the hook, but tough to see from any distance away. What type of downhole camera you using? Great video.

I believe he mentioned using an Aqua-Vu on the video, and there is an Aqua-Vu sticker on the shack as well. That said, there is a wide range of models made by them with some obviously being better than others.

We were at about 20 feet deep in the Shack and that was an Aqua-Vu. Not mine though but I'll see if I can find out from The Ice Shack what kind they have in there. It sure does have a great picture, that is for sure!
