I am wondering how much of an improvement a Trigger Tech trigger would be over the factory trigger I have on my Remington Model 7? Is it common for guys to be putting aftermarket triggers on their factory hunting rifles? In the past, I mostly shot Tikka's and Sako's for hunting and their triggers seem quite good. For target, I was using a Anschutz and it was dreamy.

I have 4 TT's on 700's or clones,2 special 2 Diamond models.
I would say the primary or special would work well, I've run both on hunting rifles. If you're not in a hurry, they usually go 20% off several times a year.

As far as I can tell the only difference between the Primary and the Special is the weight range?

Did you guys go with a curved or flat for the purpose of hunting?

Is there a trigger gauge you guys like? In the past, I have just borrowed them from others.

Don’t have much experience myself in this department because I really don't care what trigger weight is on a rifle as long as it “feels good”, but I would think wheeler digital scale is hard to beat.

I’d go with the special over the primary
Personally wouldn’t worry about the trigger gauge. Just adjust it until you like it.

Put the flat trigger on my newest coyote hammer build. I really like it. Especially with gloves on.

I have a special. Not sure if you need the heavier weight the primary offers.

I would just go with feel and avoid the scale. They are a great trigger.

Problem is with one, you will want more and not all rifles are compatible!

I prefer the flat trigger over the traditional curved for my target guns, but I have them set at 3-4 ounces. I had the primary with the traditional curved on a hunting rifle for a few seasons which was fine.
The design of these triggers makes them feel different than a traditional trigger design with a sear in that they feel like half of what a trigger gauge reads to the finger pull with no perceptible creep, it's just "there".
The trigger weight is adjusted up or down with an Allen key, on the primary and special models each click is 1 ounce, so just add the clicks either way.

Primary curved will do you just fine. Minimal advantage to stepping up a model and price point. Excellent triggers and easy to install. Just go to their website and sign up for sales alerts then buy at 20% off. Ballpark $160 + 10 or so shipping.
