Wolf foot hold setup

Describe your go to wolf foot hold setup...length of chain, inline swivels, drag or anchor, trap?

Bridger Braun #9
10’ of chain
Swivel at the trap and a swivel 4’ from the trap
Any swivels farther down the chain will be useless once wrapped up in the brush so I don’t see the need for them.
Green log or rebar drag. Some of them won’t move the green log if it gets frozen down under the snow.

What size chain? Is #2/0 with a 465 lb working load enough?

Use 1/4" chain! I used 3/16" originally and had a wolf break it!

wolf trap

Uke quit catching such big wolves that break your trap chains. Bad enough your always getting Top Lot marten and fisher, next you will get a top lot wolf with logging chain.

Wolf

Mb 750, 10' of chain plus 3 swivels, 1 shock spring. Works for the couple of wolves ì trap a year.

If I was to do it all again I would give Koro a go. MB750 too small and miss the odd one. Bridgers are heavy and I don't like them for some other reasons I won't mention. I hear good things about Koro. 10 foot of chain. Swivels like Brian suggested.
