Fish and wildlife offices

Seems like most of them in central Alberta are closed until further notice. Does anyone know any close to central Alberta or Edmonton that are still open to the public? I have been trying to buy my trapping license

Trapping license

Been having the same trouble. Finally called around and found Vermillion and Provost are the only ones open regularly. The nice lady at Vermillion said to please call first, as she's sometimes away unexpectedly and there's no one to cover.

Apparently there's also an open office on 50th street across from the Capilano Mall, or a bit south of that.

Red Deer AEP is open during the week, #304 in Provincial Building downtown Red Deer.

F and w office closures

Not that it helps central ab but the office in Brooks is closed. Perhaps permanently.

Provost office is still open....but I've been told when the steno retires, the office will close.

Strathmore wont do it, drove to Cochrane, no go there. Only admin stuff. Nice lady there said Sundre, or Calgary, but call first. Been trying to get my licence as well.
Its difficult. I don’t know why they can’t do it on line like everything else. They make it so difficult. Especially when you only have one day off.
Guvment, grrr.

So is the plan to eventually have no offices?

Red Bullets 11-07-2019 11:34 PM

Edmonton Regional office.
1st Floor, 4999 98 Avenue
Edmonton, Alberta T6B 2X3 780-427-3574

The main regional offices will always be there. I would think? maybe? hopefully?

Here's a list. It says the website may be down from Nov 8 to 10 for maintenance. Wonder what is being maintained or rather deleted?

That list is no longer correct. I see Cochrane on there and I had to drive to Sundre. Cochrane is no longer open to the public.

Camrose office is still open 8:15 to noon and 1 to 5 pm

Agreed. Call them before you drive over. The one in Spruce Grove still carries on regular hours and provides the full range of services. Many on the list are permanently closed and if open at all, have limitations on what they will do. Check before going. That said, you can now do some of this by phone with faxed docs if you are too far from an office that offers the service.

Tried the Camrose office again today; nope. The F&W officer who happened to be there told me that their admin had retired and there was no replacement hired. She said that Wetaskiwin and Red Deer were likely to become the only 2 central AB offices left. I hope they can make the licensing available on line.
