Calving seasons
Talking at the coffee shop this morn and one of the fellas had just returned from his hunt. He said that in the neighbouring camp, there was a legally taken cow moose ,that had an almost full term calf within her.. I am aware that cattle breeders are now changing there calving season to the fall, for particular reasons but have never heard of this happening in the wild. Possibly just because I don't know of those who hunt the cow season...
How many are aware if this happening and maybe it is not all that unusual ??? |
That does seem pretty wierd. Maybe the cow moose lost or aborted first calve and then went back into season and was bred again.
