Calving seasons

Talking at the coffee shop this morn and one of the fellas had just returned from his hunt. He said that in the neighbouring camp, there was a legally taken cow moose ,that had an almost full term calf within her.. I am aware that cattle breeders are now changing there calving season to the fall, for particular reasons but have never heard of this happening in the wild. Possibly just because I don't know of those who hunt the cow season...
How many are aware if this happening and maybe it is not all that unusual ???

That does seem pretty wierd. Maybe the cow moose lost or aborted first calve and then went back into season and was bred again.

after reading this right at the top of my head I would have to say you can't believe everything you hear in a coffee shop.:scared0018:

I have never heard of such a thing but then again I'm not a scientist I don't know:thinking-006:
