I have no idea the calculations and consideration of variables that would go into a shot at that distance, but regardless, once again, Canadian forces rule supreme.

That's crazy far. A person could take a leisurely stroll and move several meters in the time it took the round to get there!

Wow crazy shot. Apparently they have video. Would be interesting to watch the flight path. Similar shot to a deer I bagged one time with my Savage....

I get excited when I can hit an 18" gong 5 out of 10 times at 600m That is the kind of distance I cannot even imagine shooting. I hope to be able to hit my gong at 1000 m one day but 3400 is sick!!!

I can't even imagine what that would have taken to score a hit. The drop is somewhat predicable, but the wind, the position of the target almost 10 seconds after you pull the trigger, etc...

Absolutely Amazing.

They might just walk into what would have been another miss or hit the guy 100 meters away from the targeted man. I like to see the ratio of shots fired opposed to the number of actual hits at those distances. If you Shoot at those distances enough over the months/years sooner or later you'll hit someone. When one of the thousands of snipers lobbing thousands of shots over the years actually hits and kills someone at those distances they become an instant hero. Nothing wrong with that, every once in a while a blind squirrel finds a nut.

His skill, training, equipment put him in the ballpark, but anyone that denies that there is a good bit of luck in this.... :thinking-006:

Like shooting a gopher at 300 yards with a 22lr....hold over and touch off...wait...adjust ...repeat...then you look over and smile...:sHa_shakeshout:

The training and skill made the ballpark real small, send it, see where it hits, adjust, send it...hit...

The gopher fields make good practice:)

No doubt an amazing shot. I wonder how many shots/adjustments had to be made before he connected? If it was the first or even 2nd shot then that would really be incredible skill.

I wonder what the sight picture and scope setup for a 100m bullet drop looked like.

He probably had the exact elevations of both himself and the target. Electronics these days give a big advantage compared to years ago.

Maybe zero wind. Application for air temp correction etc etc.

Seems like you hear a lot more about these records these days. Some guys become famous. I can see it now.... "range, 3300 meters" "What's the record?" "3400". "OK, let's go back a couple hundred meters and set up again." ;) Oh calm down, I'm just joking.

3400 yards. That's not even shooting. That's advanced science and mathematics. Wow. Impressive.
