Try The Side Door .223 ?
 

OK, I currentaly have a .223 centre fire rifle. Some manufacturers are now making .223 rimfire rifles. I called the fella's at cabbel's and they never heard of this yet, and WSS closed at 6.
My question for you fellows is if it possible for my .223 CF to fire a .223 RF cartridge? I wonder if they will make the RF cartridge in such a way so that you can fire both the CF and the RF with the same gun? Would it be possible to change out your CF pin assembly for an RF one?
Bottom line is that I want to change my center fire .223 to a rimfire .223 when I feel like it. Thanks.

I have two Anschutz 54's one a .22 rimfire and one a Center fire .222 Remington

No, your CF will not work to shoot a rimfire, if there is such a thing as a .223 rimfire you will need to order a RF rifle which would be chambered to match the profile of whatever .223 RF cartridge and would have a firing pin in a different location, which would only be if they did exist, and... They don't.

Is this another one of this, crazy things you heard at the gun counter things? Or are you just dead set on killing that turkey with a rimfire?

You can get chamber adapters that allow you to fire a 22lr in a 223rem chamber, but it isn't a 223rimfire.

Your partly right. I don't care if I shoot my first Turkey with a RF or a shotgun. The .223 I heard about on google. they were even talking about an adapter for your .223.
Oh well, I'm sure it will work out like it should, I was only looking for any edge i could find. Never saw a willd turkey in the field but I've heard their spooky and their fast.

Oh boy. Just use a shot gun like every other firearm turkey hunter.

Seriously though....the WMR fires the same .224 diameter bullets as the rest of the .22 centerfires family up to 50grains or so?

Are you on your way to changing your mind about using a rf on turkey yet? Use a shotgun ninja! My experience with turkeys is nothing to do with seeing them 100 yards or further away in a field, although I have seen this, primarily in the east on agricultural land. It's about finding them the evening before or really early in the morning while they are still roosting in the trees, setting yourself up out of sight and calling them to you. A shotgun is by far the best firearm for taking turkeys. Yes they are spooky and run fast :)
