That would be an awesome prize to win,i did a bit shooting with a bow,but my shoulder is not so good so I have to pass, but if not for that I would be there in heart beat, best of luck to the winner, some people think that is a lot of money,10 bucks a day for ten years,or hunt where you never get a chance at a trophy and waste a life time of money.

Is the distance on the tube known? Is it an unspecified location on a target and not allowed to see where in the target to aim?
I've only ever heard about these things and never seen one. I'm curious if anyone has ever locked out

The distance will be marked/knowen. You will also be able to see the tube clearly (white tube in a black target).

We will also have around $4000 in other prizes at the shoot! Hunter scoring,5 points for in the kill zone, -2 for a wound and a 0 for a miss. Range finders will be allowed. Perfect time to test your skills before the opening of hunting season.

A 3/4" pvc tube in a moose target. Just have to shoot inside of the tube to win.

kujoseto 07-23-2017 10:50 PM

I'd love to witness someone winning that. Would be a pretty exciting shot

Avidhuntr 07-24-2017 10:11 AM

im guessing its atleast 70 yards?

RayM77 07-24-2017 03:16 PM

Yes its a long shot. I can't say exactly how far because of the insurance rules until the day of the shoot.

Can you re post the shoot poster? I can't see the details. I'm interested in attending this shoot, is camping available or can you recommend a nice campground near by?

Yes there is free rough camping at the range and a RV campground in evergreen park.

In addition to the 20 targets per loop there will be five extreame shots per round. This is a separate entery for $5 and the money is payed out to top three in each category. Entry cost is $50 for adults, $30 for kids and non competitive and 9 and under free. Hunter scoring will be in effect with 5 for a kill, -2 for a wound and 0 for a miss. X's. Will be counted to be used as tie breakers if necessary. In addition to the moose hunt we will have over $4000 in prizes at the shoot. Hope to see you all there!

That's pretty intense, hopefully I'll get that close to a moose this year. Surprising that even at that close range, he still only got half an arrow worth of penetration. Must have hit a rib bone on the way in or something?? Would be quite the thrill to have a moose that size, at that close of range! No wonder he is shaking so bad after the shot!

This hunt is on my bucket list. I am thrilled at the opportunity to fling a lucky Arrow and have a chance (albeit minute) to win a hunt like this. I'm stoked! I have also wanted to shoot the GP outdoor course as well, so this is a great opportunity for a fun weekend for me!

Are we restricted to the hunter equipment to shoot the tube? Could you shoot the course with a hunting bow and then go in the novelty shoots with a target bow and scope?

The only restriction for the tube shoot is no lenzes or scopes. Everything else is good to go. All eqipment types are good to go for the shoot as well, but stabilzers over 12" and lenzes will put you in the open class.

Thanks to all that came out to our Hunter shoot! It was a great turn out with a little over 80 shooters. No one won the moose hunt but Chase Martin came closest to the tube and won the $100 consolation prize. A lot of other great prizes went home with some happy winners.
