Meat Grinder Waring Pro MG100 Question

I just finished grinding a batch of meat and when cleaning the unit behind the auger where it attaches to the unit there was dark color meat/blood. Has anyone see this before? Can this be some kind of oil or grease?:scared:

I'm not familiar with that grinder but I would say some meat and blood found its way behind the auger and the heat from the friction of your auger spinning cooked the meat. I have a cabelas 3/4 horse model and if I don't lubricate the back of the auger it gets hot enough to do the same thing.
It helps quite a bit if your meat is partially frozen before grinding.

Well I just took the grinder apart and sure enough the gears are all packed with grease and it was transferred out along the motor shaft. Beware if you see this with your grinder. :mad3:
