Hornady Superformance Powder
Howdy fellas,
Gonna start working up a load for my 6.5 creedmoor. Hooding to get Hornady 143 ELD-X bullets to shoot well. Thinking of trying Hornady Superformance Powder first, not much info on it out there tho. Anyone use it...? Is it very temp sensitive..? And as a bonus anyone have experience with the ELD-X bullets on game..? Thanks in advance. |
I don't have a Creedmoor 6.5 but this is the latest from Hornadys 10th edition.

I use SP in my 280 Rem with 120 gr. TSX with excellent results

I use it in my 6.5 Creedmoor shooting Barnes 127 grain LRX bullets. I like it.
I'm going to try some Hornady 143 ELD-X bullets this year and will try it with them too. |
has anyone else noticed that it is much louder to shoot that powder?

Where is it available?

I'm pretty sure the powder Hodgdon sells as "Superformance" is not the same powder Hornady uses for in their factory loaded ammunition. As I understanding it, ballisticians at Hornady custom blend the powder for each cartridge. So, while each load is called "Superformance" the makeup cartridge to cartridge is different, just as the Hodgdon powder is also different.

Superperformance powder is not the same as used in the factory loaded ammunition. Don't know why they would try to confuse people like that
