Trump's address to the UN

http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/09/1...m_medium=email

Lots to digest eh?

He was basically hitting the nail on the head. Is the UN useless beaurocratic organization - sure it is! Is the North Korea playing with fire? Sure they are! Was he too direct - yes he was, as usual...

SlightlyDistracting 09-19-2017 10:40 PM

It was incredible.
He basically said what Ive said all along about him
Say what you want about his tactics and twitter account, but Trump wants nothing except whats best for his citizens. He called out who needed to be called out, and he said it like it is.
He was bang on.
The UN has been nothing but talk and BS. Hes right. They are the answer to a lot of the worlds problems.
He is also right about national sovereignty should be more important. Globalism is causing problems
Donny was spot on!

The bigger question is are you Canadian or do you support Globalization?

Yup, they were looking for back patting and US MONEY, without which they'd be out of business.

And don't forget his comments on Iran (spot on), and Venezuela (saying it shows what happens when socialism is applied correctly )...

I'm not a big Trump fan in general, but kudos for letting the UN know that it is a useless organization that accomplishes nothing. Lots of hurt bum to go around after that speech, but I quite enjoyed it.

Personally, I really like the part about how leaders ALL need to look after their country/citizens FIRST, instead of all this 'rule by committee globalization' crap that the UN would like to smother the world with. The UN is well past it's expiration date.

I think he finally is saying what no one else has had the guts to say, and should have been said a long time ago. Usually it's just a bunch of fluff that is said by world leaders, like what our leader usually says for example. I wish we had the 'Canadian First' slogan going here, far from it. There's just as many people, if not more that agree with what he is saying as people that disagree.

So he's joined the ranks of the crazy threatening to destroy entire nations nut jobs, sort of figured he'd get there sooner or later.

If someone was threatining your country with nuclear war what would you do? Dont you think its his job to protect the people. He didnt create this problem. The administrations previous to him could have stopped this but never did
I am greatly interested to hear your ideas. Cmon im serious. You provided us with your opinion but do nothing to support it

Two Presidents previous to him invaded and destroyed a country on the premis there are WMD'S.
And now you flap about a president who threatens to destroy NK? Your thinking is flawed.

I'm sorry, i'm a little confused.

Are you using your above example as a validation that Trump should go ahead and destroy NK (i don't recall Trump's exact words), or that the above example is a really good reason that the gun-slinging-shoot-first-ask-questions-later-wild-west approach probably isn't the best idea?

I get it. This is tough to comprehend
Ill explain
The only validation needed why trump hopefully wont but is justified in going to war with NK. Is the fact they are threatining nuclear war on the states and firing missles over their allies
My point is what was Bush's validation for attacking Iraq

I get it. You are a CNN'er!! Right? If NK managed to nuke any of the US or her allies I am positive you would be the first to start flapping how Trump did nothing to protect his people.

Sooner 09-20-2017 09:48 AM

I am not worried either will push the button and it's nice to see someone finally standing up to the NK nut job. I also like that he told the UN what most think of it.

Nice condescending response. You seemed to contradict yourself is why I was asking for clarification.

Bush's validation was made up - see the confusion.
I believe that NK is a problem, Trump is not the solution.
Trump vowed to destroy North Korea. His first attack on them will result in millions upon millions of innocent people dieing - North Korea, South Korea, Japan.

NK has been saying they're going to nuke others for many, many years. Trump is being Trump, pushing buttons in hopes he actually launches. It will be a sad day if that happens.

This final response is a promise - you will never hear my say anything about 'Trump doing nothing'. He's done enough already.

Cheers

Yes NK is has been threatining for years. Just like you said. The thing is he now for the first time has the ability to do just that. In the past he didnt
By attacking NK millions would die. And so would millions of Americans if he nuked him just like he is saying. NK is the aggressor here. Do you seriously believe Trump WANTS to nuke NK? if you do I have some real estate....
Appeasement only makes the aggressor more aggressive

Badgerbadger 09-20-2017 10:21 AM

Thing is, North Korea is already destroyed. The elites still remain in their cushy position, of course, but the general populace exists somewhere between the 1700's (agriculture) and the 1960's (technology), with little food or infrastructure and less freedom.

While NK MIGHT be able to put a thing that usually doesn't explode on top of a thing that doesn't fly to where they want, the risk is minimal though not negligable. NK is an 8 yr old threatening you with a rock.

Of note is that China is tightening its border, in support of the increased UN restrictions agreed to by the security counsel this year. This infers that risk from NK has increased and China is interested in mitigating that.

If Trump goes to war with NK in any form, millions will die within minutes from conventional weapons on both sides, as the response to that scenario has been planned and practiced and will be almost automatic. His inflammatory rhetoric accomplishes nothing, except making Kim Jong Un feel like more than a small fish in a big pond.

As for the rest of it, Trump has been wrong regarding 91% of what he says, so this speech can be assumed to be as accurate.

aulrich 09-20-2017 10:25 AM

I think this was the first time he actually sounded like a President, still had the Donny flavor. I did love the socialist dig , a lot.

I think Bannon had it right, a military solution for NK will cost 30 million dead in the first 30 min. on the other hand you have to rattle the saber some, but that might not discourage Rocket man. If NK followed the pattern of the other communist regimes, killing 10’s of millions is not an issue.

NK has proven they have weapons of mass destruction, they detonated an underground nuke that was felt all the way to Norway, So what's your point? That NK doesn't possess them? They have told the Us that they will soon be sending one to obliterate the USA, there is no comparison to IRAQ.

elkhunter11 09-20-2017 10:30 AM

The UN could care less about the welfare of the American or Canadian people. It's about time that a North American leader spoke the truth.

My point was if any President is justified for going to war this is certainly it. I was also making the point there was no justification in invading iraq in response to a post abovestating he wasnt justified.
Where do you get from any of my posts that im saying NK doesnt posses them?
I get it. This is tough. Reading is tough.
Enjoy your day.

Read your first line again before you get snappy, 'slightly distracting'? more like 'Slightly Confusing!'

dwyldethang 09-20-2017 10:45 AM

This man is not a president he's a joke, at least to the rest of the world. He isn't taking care of American's as a whole he's looking after the 1% he belongs to. The sooner people realize this the better. He was and always will be a sensationalist who cares no more for the average American the does the NK leader. The only difference between the 2 they live in different countries.
As a Canadian I'm grateful for the health system here and pity the poor Americans for a system run by greed. I could go on but quite frankly what I've read so far tells me how ignorant some people on here are, of the real issues that face the American people and the world at large. He is so dismissive of the value of life it scares me. For those of you who have children it should scare you too. Dropping nukes is not the answer, read up on your history.
