New guy with a fly rod here!
 

Hey Everyone I thought I would just throw up a thread introducing myself!

I have been spin reel fishing since since I was 4 or 5 years old but recently just picked up the fly rod and am eager to learn!

Went down to sibbald pond today for a few hours and managed to snag my first rainbow! =) It was only a little guy at about six inches but it still felt amazing!

Anyways, just thought i'd share my excitement and hopefully I can gain some more knowledge on fishing spots and sly fishing in general.

Welcome to the forum!! if your from Calgary your right in the middle of a fly fishers paradise with a world class river going through the city. I'm sure you'll find tons of helpful info on here

Thanks! I do live in Calgary as a matter of fact. I have fished the bow tons with my spin reel so hopefully the fly rod treats me as well :)
