Cerakote on a Shotgun

Is cerakote worth the money? I hunt in the rain a lot and my barrel and receiver are starting to show a bit of surface rust through the bluing. I was quoted around $350 to do the shotgun. Do you guys think it will be worth it? I really like the looks of it as well and would help with concealment in lay down blind hunting.

I think you have answered your own question. Go for it .Durability is about the same as bluing . Areas that rub will get worn off relatively quick

This should help you. Lots of bad information out there...

It shouldnt rub off if the metal was prepared properly. The new elite stuff is amazing! I had one of my 1911 match guns done including the barrel. I have a couple thousand rounds through the gun and tge coating on the barrel is not scratched or worn

Another lower budget is duracoat spray paint
