Nice fish and good on ya for the clean up. I’m goin for my first cuttie trip of the season this weekend. I’ve been itching. Way too late for the first trip. Been stuck in the city fishing all season other than one early trip to the little red. Can’t wait. Hope I have as much fun as it looks like you did.

Nice fish and good for you. It’s sobering to see the hooks scars. Certainly makes one wonder how many times those fish will get caught in their lives and drives home the point that we need to be good fish handlers.

Fish look like they are doing well besides all the face injuries. A little more gentle on the release and the fish could keep their maxilla's. Hopefully folks are trying to get hooks out with more skill as time goes on. Thanks for the nice pics

That's awesome J-Roc
What better way to spend the day in the great outdoors. Thanks for sharing, spectacular photos to. Maybe you can put the photos in a book for some folks that enjoy reading, that way they can learn about what it takes to get out there and try it for themselves. Purhaps they might enjoy the thrill of trying different things with the excitement of accomplishments that only a few experience in a life time. The Great Outdoors is there for those that choose use it,,, it then becomes a reality of good times. |
Looks like a beauty spot and thanks for packing out more than you brought in!

Congratulations on a great day on the water and reminding us that some areas might need a break for awhile.

Totally agree with you- Ken H. Great forum and always nice to see beauty fish...possibly just a troll.

New to Alberta. So my question is, Do anglers not have to pinch barbs here?
In B.C. most of the fishing, and streams for sure require barbless to make catch and release less harmful. |
Barbless is not mandatory, just suggested

I can't seem to let go of the photos in this post. By no means do I wish to stop folks from posting photos and I hold no ill intentions toward the OP. On the contrary, I congratulate him on an excellent outing and some of the finest pics I have seen.
Instead, I would like to entertain ideas and thoughts on how to avoid potential overuse of the resource that brings us all to this forum. I have read through this entire thread more than once as it echoes other threads of a similar nature. Low, warm, heavily pressured, water that can potentially be fished with barbed hooks. Countless threads that speak to fishing waters that don't seem to produce like they used to have become quite common. Certainly, there are other factors that play into these downfalls and I am by no means discounting them. Your thoughts? |
