Looking to hunt small game around Edmonton

Hello all, I'm looking to find some public land to hunt near Edmonton that has a descent population of small game. Grouse, maybe some rabbit and squirel. If anyone can point me into the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

What type of tool will you be using to hunt?

Rabbit would be the only game in season that you could probably hunt?

Check out this link it is last years regulation but it could give direction.

You can't hunt squirrels on public land at all.

Just a thought but I wonder if you could legally hunt in Blackfoot for Bunnies?
Maybe worth giving them a call and see. Then you will have a pile of area if it is allowed. I know of a couple other chunks of crown in Strathcona and I bet Ministik it is legal as well. Tons of land there

No go on Blackfoot. Only grouse/birds/ ungulates.
Popping bunnies/squirrels will land you a poaching fine/charge in there.
They tell you as much in orientation.

Good to know. I figure it would be worth a try. Maybe check the legalities for Ministik?

Lots of DU and ACA land around. I assume that small game would be allowed on those spots. Just have to watch out for the ones with cows at this time of year.

Never seen this website before, thanks for that! Seems to be very helpful.

Ministik is very close to Edmonton. I didn't see one single rabbit sign and that's the only small game you can hunt over there since its a bird sanctuary. I was there for about 6 hours walking every single bush.

If you go there and get success please share your story.
