Hunting Companies Respond to Recent Ban on Urine-Based Deer Lures
US sourced, but does address many of the concerns related to CWD and the use of urine based lures:

I personally think hunters should learn to hunt without all these products. In my eyes anyone that uses 'products' to "hunt" isn't a true hunter.

Using captive deer urine is not worth the disease risk to our wild deer.
I fully support banning the sale of deer urine for any use other than drinking. Regardless of the disease concern, IMO, any person who believes that deer are WILDLIFE would not support the living conditions and stress these animals experience just so people can buy their pizz. If you must, use synthetic pee or your own. |
Didn’t feed trost do a big expose on this years ago?

I think I tried doe **** once
Don’t think it did anything I always try to be down wind so I don’t think I would want animals to intentionally put the wind in their favour |

Pretty sure your modern powders and copper jacketed bullets are a “product”. Same goes for your boots vs moccasins. Your scope, your down-filled jacket, your wool socks, all the way down to your cotton underwear and scent free body wash. |

Long term these products could result in hunters not requiring any skill. Do you want to pass down your hunting knowledge or is it ok to sum hunting up in a bottle of pee, electronic call or food attractant? In the past I did try doe pee, with success, for a very elusive buck but it did make me reflect on that fact that I didn't take time to learn about that buck's patterns and habits. I did shoot that deer but it hardly felt like a true hunt. If we want to preserve our hunting heritage we have to be very careful with what we let hunting become. If is just attracting animals and shooting them it no longer is hunting. The definition of hunt is: -pursue and kill (a wild animal) for sport or food. -a search. Sitting over a bait pile or smell attractant or electronic call is hardly hunting. |

Like really, how hard is it to line something up in the crosshairs and squeeze :) |

I guess if you pattern a deer over a farmers field or food source that is not the same as a bait pile. |
