1/16 lighting locks
 

what causes 1/16 lightning locks to break at the swivel ? Not where the breakaway is fixed but at the pivot pin that locks on the cable ?
Second one in a row Breakaway is still fixed to the stem of the lock lever But the top part that locks on the cable is History ?:confused:

I have never had one break on a coyote but I lost one wolf and had a cougar and an elk break them. I only use them for lynx now.

I have never had one break on yotes, which is what they are rated for, I am using them exclusively with 265 bads. I did have a cow snap one tearing loose and from trying them out with winches and static weight, it seems like a hard hit will snap them but it has to be a big one. I snapped one dropping a 120# weight tied to it snapped it which is about what a wolf can generate if it really lunges.

Are they the older ones with 5 teeth or the new ones with 4 teeth?????

Its because they are absolute junk.

Well Sir, Fill me in on what you might suggest as an alternative ? I,m open to any ideas for 1/16 cable and your reason why if you have a preference THXs

The one run was absolute junk. The bad ones had 6 teeth including the tooth on the tip. Not all locks with 6 teeth are bad, there were two runs of those, the good ones had aluminum rivets and the bad ones had really nice, neatly rolled steel rivets.

They are now made in a new factory and the new run is good, designed for coyotes and not wolves. They now have 4 teeth.

So the way to do a coyote drive out here now is :
We play a recording of your singing on one side of a bush and wait on the other side with the shotgun ! Works every time THANKS !!
