Thats awesome! What part of the lake?:) you really dont have to say if you dont want.

At least where the perch any big? whats the biggest? I've fished there this year a few times and the biggest perch I got was like 6"!!

That lake used to be pretty good for jumbo's. When the drought hit in '01 the lake dropped way down in the summer. The geese were using all the new islands and when they raised the water levels in the late fall it washed in all the goose crap and I think it did a number on the perch. Visibility was garbage that whole winter, it just didn't seem to settle out. since then, all our old perch grounds were vacant, and i haven't seen a jumbo since. hopefully in time they will come around.

Yeah it's been worse since the drought....
Used to get onto them pretty consistently open and hard water but now it's spotty at best and just not as good average size wise.

I betcha I have spent at least 45-50 days on that lake and have never caught one ice fishing. Granted, we never went in the areas more prone to holding them, but I have fished all the way from 5-40 ft of water and never brought one up through the ice. I have caught a couple open water fishing though.
