Resources for Maps to Scout

Hi all,

I was wondering what resources you guys use to scout fishing locations for both fly and spin fishing? I know google maps is the go to answer, but I am not the biggest fan of that. If anyone has a good resource for anything such as topographic maps that would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers.

if youre in a PLUZ you can download a PDF file that is a georeferenced map from a provincial website.

Here it is for Ghost: https://open.alberta.ca/dataset/456a...renced-map.pdf

If you open that in a an app like Avenza, it turns into a GPS map.

I almost always use this method when fishing in a PLUZ. Way more detailed than google maps and it lets you mark good fishing/camping spots.

I use the Gaia app, well worth the 30 bucks/year. I use it in conjunction with my Garmin Mini when out hunting.

I stumbled on this right before my last outing this summer https://www.whackingfatties.com/#fattyMap

No idea if its any good but at least in theory it'd be useful.
