What fish is this?
We are in the south if France and my daughter caught her first fish
Anyone know what this is?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a1c811072a.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Looks like an introduced species. Almost tropical of some sort, just my 2 cents.
|
looks like an Annular sea bream
|
Either way SRD should be informed if it was caught in Alberta waters.
|
I am assuming saltwater.
It is a spotted rose snapper. Very good eating, even if it is small. |

Looks like some kind of snapper, but I am definitely no expert. Whatever it is, it looks good and tasty. Wish I could be catching something like this in Alberta.
Enjoy the vacation! France is alright for the most part. |
I would guess a type of bream too.
|
Agree that this is some type of Snapper. Caught a handful of Mutton Snapper in Cancun and looks a lot like this photo.
|
looks like a saddled bream
|
Maybe try posting on France Outdoors Forum, where they might actually know what kind of fish it is?
|
Googled saddled bream and this came up.

That's a beautiful fish, I'll bet your daughter was thrilled! Did you let it back or cook it?
PS: Nice photo |
