Federal Wildlife Enforcement

I am a federal wildlife enforcement officer with Environment Canada. My area of responsibility includes Alberta. I also cover Manitoba Saskatchewan Nunavut and NWT.

Federal legislation covers migratory birds as well as the importation and exportation of animals, animal parts or derivatives.

I am willing to speak to anyone who may have any information on any illegal activity

Please feel free to contact me

Regards

Thanks for the reply

nebcfarmer 06-21-2019 08:41 AM

Just gonna say that distrust of the feds in general is at an all time high. Good luck in your search.

I appreciate the distrust I really do. I am just here if anyone has information on unethical hunting I will do what I can

I can not account for the bureaucracy of the entire government

Thanks

Ethics vs. Legality..... hmmm

I’m gonna say it plain and simple.
I do not believe you one bit, and you are probably a troll.
Here’s why.
1. Your superiors would reprimand you for coming onto a social media website and exposing your position.
2. The choice of the word unethical instead of illegal.

So back under the bridge you should go.

FishOutOfWater 06-21-2019 08:54 AM

And your name is ...? Aren't public servants supposed to disclose/offer-up that information when addressing the public ?

Cheers, & good luck !

NaturalBornKilla 06-21-2019 09:08 AM

Anyone care to call his office and speak directly to this 'Officer'?

https://www.canada.ca/en/environment...t/contact.html

hillbillyreefer 06-21-2019 09:10 AM

Hmm, odd that a pm was sent with no name or contact information to reply to the “officer”.

Hello....
Hello....
Lloyd? Is that you Lloyd?

Ha you have no clue how things work! How is him coming here any different than a report a poacher hotline? He’s not saying he’s under cover he just said this is what I do, if you have any tips let me know. Unethical vs illegal just semantics my friend. PLUS he said illegal activity in the first post. He may be a troll and he may be legit but your 2 reasons for discrediting him can EASILY be refuted...the all high and mighty AO members prove they are soo quick to judge again!

All law enforcement uses social media in some aspect since people are dumb and have to post everything they’re doing as they’re doing it..

I have his direct line, and full name if you'd like it... PM only.

* it would seem he's not "full of it", or being a troll.

I guess I was wrong.

Supermag 06-21-2019 09:47 AM

I met a couple of the Federales a few years back when we were on a goose shoot. They were driving around watching people with binos and checking up after the hunts. They didn't interfere and were pleasant and professional. I had his card but don't know what ever happened to it.

I've only had one bad experience with a conservation officer. My buddy and I were cutting up my deer many years ago. I saved the hinds to take in for jerky. Well, they were still connected by the pelvis, and when the CO did a check at the butcher, he made a huge deal out of it and gave me a written warning because they weren't tagged. I thought that was pretty dickish. Could have been worse though, I guess.

I can also now confirm he’s legitimate.

I could give names of several provincial and federal politicians that are currently in illegal possession of wildlife and contravened cross border import laws.

Is Environment Canada willing to treat politicians the same as Joe hunter?

One guy to cover half the country ? Sounds like Canada all right.

Grizz

KGB 06-21-2019 11:54 AM

Well boys if he is a REAL fed officer - I would say it’s good to have him here. At least we now have someone here we can ask a tricky questions about hunting regulations etc...
If not - then we will find out really fast if he is a fraud.

Dewey Cox 06-21-2019 12:42 PM

Would native hunting and fishing fall under his jurisdiction?

When your boss (Fed government) tells you and other LEO to help the RCMP round up all these banned guns you will not be just here if anyone has information on unethical hunting I will do what I can

Every federal LEO is on the cusp of not being a friend to our community

Not sure why you won't post your name and phone number? Your credibility will increase significantly. Pretty easy to get the number of a Federal Officer with a few minutes on a keyboard. I think id do that before trusting a post like yours.

Full Curl Earl 06-22-2019 12:43 AM

Geez

Who in there right mind would post a name and phone number after all that Deuchery!
I bet he’s received PM’s from respectable hunters, folks that hate poaching scum. Good on him. Folks are always complaining they dont do enough, well here is something.

If you have a legitimate reason to talk to him, I'll provide you with the phone # he provided me... Or you can PM him yourself.

I took the liberty of Googling the number, and it's a Gov't of Canada # linked to a guy with a suspiciously similar last name as the OP's username. And I came to the conclusion he's the head of his Dept, the gov't website leads me to believe this - but he could be "just an officer".

You could call him though and ask, "Hey, was that really you posting on the Alberta Outdoorsman Forum ?"... But it might make you sound a bit immature, or borderline stupid.

No kidding.

Steve W 06-22-2019 09:31 AM

I think I found him on a website too. Easy enough to sort out.

KegRiver 06-23-2019 10:54 PM

Seems to me that even if the guys a fraud, all calling him out proves is, nothing.

And if he is ligit, all that was accomplished was to possibly alienate someone who we ought be supporting.

MooseRiverTrapper 06-23-2019 11:39 PM

Fish cops finally making it public they are on here?
